The ARB Classic Stubby bumper I'm eagerly awaiting does not have a provision to retain the factory fog lights. I would like to replace them with aftermarket SAE fog lights, however I don't want to have to splice into any factory wiring. My plan is to use these Diode Dynamics fog lights in conjunction with these Starkey wiring adapters to connect to my factory fog light harness. My concern is that without having any of these parts in front of me I can't determine whether or not what I want to do is actually possible. Has anyone ever done anything like this where they've taken the fog light harness out of their factory bumper and repurposed it for use in an aftermarket bumper?

You link to the SS3 pods. Why not go with the actual SS3 fogs?

https://www.diodedynamics.com/ss3-led-fog-light-kit-for-2018-2022-jeep-jl-wrangler.html

The fog kit comes with the necessary harness to connect to the OEM/factory connectors.
Because those are designed to mount inside the factory fog light pockets, which the ARB bumper doesn't have. They don't come with the regular "universal" brackets I'd need to mount them to the new bumper, plus they have that ugly circular trim ring on them which is unnecessary if they're not going inside a fog light pocket. If I buy the SAE pods and harness I linked, my total cost would be $330, if I bought the replacement fog light kit my total cost would be $380.

I don't know about the adapter, but what you're describing is silly-easy, meaning ridiculously easy, or in other words, stupid-easy.

Sounds like it's right up my alley, then. I'm comfortable doing a lot of mechanical things, but for me any type of wiring is pretty much witchcraft. Even the pickups in my guitar are plug-and-play with no soldering required :like:

If you are getting the lights through Diode Dynamics I would see if they can throw in the wiring adapters that are in the JL fog light kit. I just got their Jl fog light kit and included wiring adapters to make the factory harness plug and play

Would something like THIS work to secure the factory harness inside my new bumper?

I had a bunch of Amazon points so I got everything from there. Also, I ended up going with the Sport lights instead of the Pro. From my research it seems that although the Pro is brighter, the Sport is actually a better fog light.

If you can get them to stick to the bumper then you are good to go. Use some alcohol to clean the surface they will attach to. You also might want to get some adhesion promoter to help them stick.

Also, I ended up going with the Sport lights instead of the Pro.
I've been running yellow/amber sports in my OEM bumper for about a year now. They are a fantastic fog light. No issues whatsoever.

Worked like a charm. I did have to change the polarity of the adapters but that was easy as eatin' pancakes.

Who's idea was it to put the harness inside the bumper
