Because the 33"s are 32"s.
So when it comes to KO2s - what Jeep advertises as 33s are 32s and what I thought were 35s are maybe 34s but really smaller.

I should have gone 35 inch MT/R kevlars like I always have.

I don't think the actual size matters much, even the small 315/70 KO2's dont really fit without a lift.

Have you had issues with yours without lift? I’m running stock JLUR suspension (wish I could lift but can’t because of where I park) and haven’t had any rubbing

This was his rig right after the lift was installed - compared to stock it is much more than 2 inches. I didn’t do the install but guys that did said it was over 3 inches in added height.

This picture says it all about the 2" lift

I easily got over 3" on mine installed.

I got 3.75 inches in the front and 3.25 in the rear. One thing to note. Most 37' tires measure at just over 35" and most 35' tires are actually usually just over 33". I started out with 35's with the stock Rubi suspension. Tires would fully articulate and only just barely rub in the right rear. The Jeep looked too low though and I got a killer deal on a Mopar lift ($850) so we installed it. I got way more than the 2" and my 35's looked like the Jeep skipped leg day so I went to 37's. (which measure out to 35.5"

You have photos? It’s so weird because compared to stock 33s the 315/70 looks so, so much bigger and people told me they were true 35s now keep reading they’re 34 or less - how can less than an inch of tire be so much larger?

The difference is that one tire is under load and the other isn’t. To compare them take them off and set them at the same exact pressure. The comparison as it stands right now is meaningless.

I think the 2" lift goes mostly for a stock rubicon, which is already 1.5-2" taller than the sport (with same model e.g. 4 door hard top etc). Since the coils are included in the kit, you're replacing the coils in both the rubicon and sport, so a rubicon will likely get in the 2-2.5" range, and a sport 3.5-4" range with the new "standardized" springs. And as others said, the weight of other mods will likely play into it as well.

The rears will rub under full flex.

Why are you surprised that a jeep with the same tires and a 2 inch lift looks taller than yours? IT IS TALLER. You are suffering from mod envy.

Just to clear up any misinformation, 315/70/17's are 34.4" in dia, per Tire Rack. 35/12.5/17's are 35.5" in dia. Essentially the same. BTW, these are KO2 measurements.

Just want to make it clear. See below.
