Is it bad to attach additional blind spot mirrors to side mirrors?

Blind spot detection sucks and I don't love that my mirrors won't go wide enough to eliminate my blind spot.

I bought some stick on wide angle mirrors but I'm curious if I'll fuck up any sensors (I have blind spot detection but it's borderline worthless) or if there is anywhere I shouldn't attach them. I was going to stick them towards the bottom outside.

You will be fine the sensors for the blind spot are in the rear tail light housing.

I have to agree with post #2. My sensors work every time there’s a vehicle next to me. If you really want to be extra cautious you can mount another mirror to the mirror bracket but it probably won’t look good. As far as sticking one on the actual mirror? I’m not sure if that would mess up your sensors.

Didn’t mess up mine.

Maximizing your side mirror view is the first thing you should do, might not need any additional help, unless you're wearing a neck brace :)
Agreed. Many people set the side mirrors to see mostly what the center mirror shows. It takes some getting used to when you adjust them correctly, but you can see much better once you do.

That said, yes spot mirrors are fine. They won't hurt the mirror (heat or power) nor the blind spot detection (sensors are in the taillight housings). I put spot mirrors on my Jeep within a week of delivery and have no issues.

This did not work in my soft top TJ. The back window was always so dirty the review was not usable if that rear window was in place. Those with soft top JLs may have a similar issue.
Taking your rearview mirror out of the equation does make it tougher, have to find a slight compromise in the side mirror angles but I'd still go as wide as you safely can there. Those side obstacles are typically much worse than those behind (unless they happen to be drunk, texting, or stupid) :)

Really? My blind spot sensors work great for me. I love them.

Anything that makes your view more enhanced is fine. I always push the side view mirrors as far at as possible and that way I get pretty good angle of view. There is just no need to observe the side of your vehicle in the mirror , pushing it way out is way more helpful.
