Is anyone familiar with the crank shaft position sensor malfunction on the JLs ?

Service says they need to order a new sensor, but I'm pressing for more info. I'm not sure if it's just a faulty ss sensor or indicative of a bigger problem with the engine. This issue caused the check engine light to turn on within the first 10 miles of driving the brand new JL with 2.0 engine.

Several users here have had the same problem. Seems common for such a specific issue, it's just the sensor though.
