Love my 2020 Recon 2.0 Turbo, but the draw of the 392 is strong. I told myself to wait for the tech upgrade to uConnect5 that is rolling out across the lineup.

I am now reading that 2022 may be the last year for the 392... uConnect5 is probably a 2023 thing at this point.

Anyone have any real information about if the 392 will or won't stick around?

We're hoping for a uconnect 5 retrofit, unless it is too full of invasive tracking and over-the-air nonsense.

That would be great but I'd imagine it really depends on the extent of the refresh coming in '23 (though I wonder if it'll be '24, though that would be a pretty late refresh for FCA).

Confirmed: There will be a 2023 Wrangler

Not confirmed:
Mid cycle refresh (magic 8 ball says yes though)
UConnect on said unknown refresh
Hemi in 2023
Question: If 2023 does turn out to be the mid-cycle refresh, and that refresh does turn out to include Uconnect 5... What is the general consensus on any improvements or new features that will come with UC-5?

Just asking because I've often heard about the possibilty of 5 coming in the refresh, but I'm not really familiar with what is expected from UC5 that people are looking forward to.

Thanks in advance for any info/insight.

UConnect 5 is out and in some vehicles. Google the features. It looks slick.

There is a lot of talk on the Facebook group that the 392 Wrangler will not be produced for MY 2023.

If you want a 392 get it...dont let a simple UC stop you. These 392's will only go up in value

I'm not sure if it will be around, but speaking from experience, UConnect 5 is so unreliable and slow I personally would spring now and just avoid it. New tech is nice, when implemented properly. FCA (Stellantis) has a habit of really missing the mark on first year products.

I have Uconnect 5 on a 21 Grand Cherokee L and a 22 TRX and it's not all that awesome vs the UC4 in my 392XR. The stereo doesn't sound different because of it and it isn't easier to navigate, maybe even harder actually.....

Looking different doesn't always mean working better.

I think the only real benefit (for me) would be wireless Android Auto. I have that in my wife's BMW X7 and it is a godsend.

You can purchase an adapter to make it wireless. Not sure why Jeep pinches pennys on certain things. Thankfully, the bronco is gonna make them open the check book.

On the Ram TRX forum, they are not impressed with uc5. My 2021 TRX has uc4 and works great, albeit slow. I hope my 2022 392XR has uc4.
