    Hi Everyone,

I wanted to take a minute to introduce Hothead Headliners to the JL forum members even though I see there has already been a decent amount of talk about us on this forum. We are a small American company that takes pride in offering the best headliners we can make and even more pride in providing exceptional customer support. If you've been wondering about our headliners or some of the others we have some informative videos on our web site where I show how ours and others are constructed. It's so hard to tell exactly what your'e looking at from just a picture.

Here is a link to our web site: Hothead Headliners

If you have any questions please email or give us a call:

    best regards,
    Mark

Does the sound assassin go under the mats?

Do I have to take the top off to install these?

Do you have any installed pics in the lighter gray color?

Yes, the strips go in the grooves in the top and then the mats go on. There are some good install videos on their site.

    Hi,
you do not have to remove the hard top, but you should remove the two front freedom panels to install those.
The sound assassin strips do under the headliner panels into the small 2" grooves.
We don't have a picture of the lighter color headliners in the JL but here are some in a JK. I hope that helps.
    regards,

Is this the graphite or medium gray?
And I'm ordering a tan interior, so please post a med/dark oak pic, although leaning towards one of the grays as it will match the dash.

To piggyback off this...do you think the gray or med/dark oak color would go better with the Sting-Gray and Tan cloth interior?

I heard of others using rhino liner to get away from the off white insides. I wanted to do that and also the hothead liners.

Now do i install liners, then paint or paint scuff mount hot heads. Ugh!

Just ordered a set the other day. Thanks a lot for the veterans discount. It means a lot to us. I am a 70 yr old Vietnam vet and waiting on my first ever Jeep.... discounts really help a lot with this Jeep fever. Thanks again.

I always recommend to paint or rhino line about 1" into the recessed areas before installing the headliners. Once the headliners are installed no more white and the headliners will stick directly to the hard top with no interference from the paint or rhino lining.
