Are there any options for a secure rear area in a 2dr? I see the Tuffy that bolts onto the tailgate, but I'm looking for something like the Tuffy security deck for the JK that provides a fully enclosed area that you can't access without being able to open the tailgate...

Looks good, unfortunately out of stock, did you go to gpcs.us or another site for that shot you posted?
That's the only site that came up. I don't think they supply to other places

They make one for the jl 2dr as well. It's about 800 usd

This should fit behind the rear seat right.

That's what I have in mine (see post #48). Just be aware the hard lid isn't as rigid as it appears in the pictures.

Also, it is not waterproof (only say that because of your amazon search bar)

Hi Brian, it is very well made and solid. I installed it directly on the tailgate (removed the plastic tailgate cover) to save space. I put insulation tape on these sections of the tailgate to prevent rattles and scratches (re-posting the pic):

I did notice a slight rattle when going over bumps so I put a little foam tape in the upper corner where the lid met the box and it never rattled again.
really great info thanks! do you have any issues with the trunk closing? (hinges)

Btw, how did you get past security? Did you show them some fake 2dr credentials???

A gave person at front gate a $100 Jeep coupon. No problem at all. :CWL:😎

Not sure if this will work on a 2-door:

I had that hi lift/axe/shovel mount for about a year. It started making quite a bit of rattling noise - the hi lift in particular. Given I never use it, it didn't make sense to put up with the rattle. I also have a shelf and it cut down on how tall a storage bin could be. I'll take a 'lifting device' when getting far off the beaten trail, but to have it mounted long term didn't work great for me.

You're welcome! I didn't have any issues with it at all. It cleared the latch and didn't affect the hinges. The box rested on the tailgate bed so the weight didn't matter. The box itself isn't that heavy. I was able to install it myself by resting the box on a sawhorse.

I run top down as much as possible and the box was great for storing my laptop, iPad Pro, 32oz Hydroflask, lunch cooler, and sometimes purse. We would put recovery gear and tire air compressor in there when going off-road.

I have no affiliation, but thought the box worked great.

PS: You can usually get a discount at Quadratec by PM'ing them on the forum.
