I found one on Amazon in the warehouse section for $236 so I bought it. Worst case If I don’t like it I’m not out of ton of money.
I always forget about amazon warehouse.

i'll get more pics this weekend. Sorry about the delay guys. it's dark by the time i get home from work and the garage has my cheap miata challenge car in it.

It is mostly used items or damaged packaging or returns. There was only one bumper when I bought it. It got delivered yesterday and looks like the box had never been opened. I can see where a shipping label was cut off so I assume it was a return that was never opened. I’ve had pretty good luck with the warehouse deals.

This bumper is pretty heavy. Hope to get it installed today. Getting the sensors installed is my only concern.

There are still a couple new ones for $299. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07ST47KWC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I got the bumper installed today. The install of the new bumper is super easy. Getting all the dang sensors out of a plastic stock bumper was a nightmare. The sensors on the plastic bumper have different attachments than the factory steel bumper. It took me over two hours to get all the sensors out and wires removed. Knowing what I know now it wouldn’t take as long but they are a pain in the arse. Part of the lengthy time was due to being extra careful to not damage anything. Those sensors are expensive.

The sensor attachment on the new bumper wasn’t very reassuring but they actually seem to work. I’m not getting any errors and they are alerting on objects. I’m afraid they will screw up at some point but I’ll deal with it later. It’s not the cleanest look right now so I’m going to work on it but for now it appears they are ok.

Last thing is mounting my additional backup lights. There is a built-in mount point with the bumper but I need to get a bracket to fit my lights. I left the screen in for now because I think it looks good. I’ll post some pics when I can get some daylight.

For me, it’s hard to beat the quality for the price. It is heavy, solid, thick steel, and the powder coat is great for the price. Installs right over factory tow hitch. If you don’t have sensors the entire replacement won’t take more than an hour.

Have to add one more thing. That stock plastic bumper is horrible. It is a ridiculous mess and has almost no substance. I guess Jeep depends on the spare to protect rear-end collisions.

Can you share what you learned about getting the sensors out of the plastic bumper? I’m about to go through the same pain and I’m a little nervous about it.

Sure. Like most of the Jeep plugs, there is a locking clip you have to pull up then squeeze back toward to middle. The wires are very small gauge so I was afraid of damaging them. Keeping that in mind it was extremely difficult for me to get the plugs off the sensors. The inner two sensors are down in a hole which made it even more difficult to get them off.

The wiring harness is attached with tree plugs from the inside so you pretty much have to dismantle the entire bumper, which made access to those two inner sensors easier but they were still difficult to get detached. There are probably 40 or so screws to get the bumper completely dismantled, at least the plastic bumper.

Once you get the plugs removed from the sensors, they are super easy to remove from the housing. Just pry the plastic arms from two sides and they slide out. There is a video (below) that goes through the entire bumper removal and install and it shows the sensor removal but it’s using a factory steel bumper which has entirely different housings. The plastic bumper housings are all one piece and basically plastic welded into the bumper. I can post pictures later of what I’m talking about.

I wouldn’t be scared of the process but it takes time to be careful and maybe a few choice words. Lol.

I’m not even going to attempt to put the plastic bumper back together. It’s such a light and flimsy piece of crap. I’ll keep parts in case anyone ever needs something I can help out.

Adding some pictures. Ignore the scratches. I had no intention of saving the bumper, so I let the concrete do its thing. Hope these help a little.

Front of bumper with sensor removed. Notice the grommet which directs the sensor. This is a separate piece in the steel bumper but not in the plastic one.

Backside. Notice the plate that is welded into the plastic bumper.

I removed the entire piece by prying it with a pick and flat-head screwdriver.

Do you guys have any pics? The ones on Amazon aren't great
Adding several pictures. I got my backup lights mounted today. I left the screen in place because I like how it looks compared to putting a square light in that space and have huge gaps all around. I used a piece of steel to attach to the bumper slot and my lights that way I can easily control the angle. Hopefully it will still let enough light out with the screen. Only tried it in daylight so far.

Thanks for all of this great information! So you were able to use the single piece as-is from the plastic bumper in the new bumper, as opposed to the type that comes in the steel bumper?

No. This bumper has the backside mounts already built in. The thing I’m missing is the front grommet/ring. See my other post for a couple close-up pics and it will make sense. My sensors are working just fine so I may leave it or use RTV or some other grommet I can get to fit. Would like a more finished look but it’s okay for now.

Looks great! What size tire is mounted? I have 37x13.50 and hope to eliminate spacer!
