Nope, no need. Use the collar on the drag link. Loosen the nut that keeps the collar tight, then spin the bottom of the collar towards the back of the Jeep to turn the wheel clockwise, opposite for counter clockwise. Make sure the collar is actually moving on the threads either clockwise or counterclockwise depending. It's really easy to do.
Isnt it just a matter of pulling the steering wheel and re-centering it on the shaft or is that old school or doesnt apply here?

No don't go pulling off the steering wheel. Do it just as Kadonny described that's how you do it.

Gotcha, Thanks!
Oh and small turns yield big results. So start with like 1/4 turns and drive to test to see how it changed. Re-adjust if necessary from there.

Why is the steering wheel changing ? , The only way the steering wheel could change is if you moved the front end over is Rusty’s track bar bracket moving the end of the track bar? I thought Rustys bracket was just a brace and the track bar was in the exact same location using the factory bracket and location. Also are you having to lengthen or shorten your steering link to center the wheel that’ll tell me which way the track bar was moved.

My friend and I both have these on our JL rubicon’s. His steering did not change, my did. Mine lined up and went on much easier than his.I’m assuming, maybe the steering wheel changed since the steering box comes off.

I'm on the recall list. Looks like my Jeep is going to gain a couple pounds...

Quick question so I can go into my install prepared. When you unbolt all 4 BOLTS that hold steering motor, does it just sort of fall or its held in place still? Also, is remove the tire a must? or can I just turn wheel all the way to left.

The steering gear will fall down a little but not out you'll be good. No needed to remove your tire at all or turn it. You should keep them straight really. You may have to re-adjust your steering wheel as it may not be centered after your done. Mine wasn't was off but a few degrees is all.

For the guys that said they have to adjust the steering wheel. Did it change the way your vehicle tracks? Does it track straight?

I just did mine right now. The hardest part was getting the top bolt on the side closest to spring. I had to pull down on bumper to c9mpress spring to slide bolt out. The rest was piece of cake. Mine didn’t change the steering. It stayed straight. I turned wheel so I could break the steering box bolts loose then I straightened wheels and removed bolts completely.

As for the bracket, everything lined up perfectly. Didn’t have to use a hammer :)
