You may just need 1 if not doing rear tailgate. If doing the tailgate I think you need 2.
So if I have 2018 4door sport, I'll need two if i include the tailgate? I dont think I NEED tailgate, especially if theres further complications like the poster above... curious though what most are doing

Does the pulse from the wiring to the electric lock require a positive pulse?

Thanks

Help!

I have received all the parts needed to install the power door locks, On my work bench I have tested the alarm function, all works as it should.

The problem is that I am not able to make the door lock latch do any thing.

Working with the passenger door lock latch, per the wiring pin out pin one is unlock and pin two is lock, I am assuming that a 12 volt pulse on pin one would unlock and pin two would lock however nothing happens with either pin.

Please advise what I am missing or doing wrong to make the door lock latch work?

Thanks

I was scared when I did my test too LOL. YOU have to have BOTH + and - to work. Thats what the RELAY does. It sort of switches polarity. So if your trying to just connect the positive to LOCK and test it you will get no response. You must have both LOCK and Unlock plugged.

Here you can see how to wire it up. Colors may be off depending on your alarm and relay but you get the idea of how the relay works.

Viper 211HV Keyless Entry System wiring pin out?
For those that do not need an alarm system, the Viper 211HV is a keyless entry system only, has built in relay.
A special thanks to RubenZ for his help with the pin out of the Viper 211HV

In an effort the properly manage the power door lock installation, I have divided the install into four phases.

Phases 1 was to test the power door lock device, build the warring harness, and test electronics.
Phases 2 was to install warring harness in the jeep and test same.
The power door lock brain was installed behind the glove box for easy access to the fuses and such.

The above is the wiring harness.

Phase three is to install passenger door lock and test.
Phase four is to install driver door lock and test.

I am in Lexington, KY and need to find a place to sell me the power locks and install them in my car. Does anyone know where I would go to do that? I am a student-athlete and do not have the expertise or time to do this on my own. Any help would be greatly appreciated this!

Phase three is to install passenger door lock and test: has been completed.

I had one VERY BIG PROBLEM, as I was unscrewing the window bolts, the first one stated to drag an squeak, but came out, the second window bolt started to drag and squeak, then twisted off. I just new at this point my wife was going to skin me for breaking her new jeep. I was able to drill out the remaining part of the twisted off bolt with out damaging the threads, and the threads were in good shape, it was the bolt that was bad, as it turns out the bolts that hold the inner door panel are the same as the window bolts, so I used one of those. I will order a window bolt and swap them in due time.

I have started on phase four, all good so far, window bolts came out just fine, I hope to complete the install in the morning, when it is color.

I wander if there was some type of lock tight on the threads???
