Inspection Purgatory

Well this is frustrating. Ordered my 2018 JLUR on 7/25. Dealer updated me of it being in Final Inspection around 8/15. IT IS STILL STUCK IN FINAL INSPECTION. So...who holds the record for theirs being in inspection purgatory the longest? I am sitting at about 6 weeks.

I ordered mine on 6/11. It entered "I" status on 7/21. On 8/17 they issued a clone order. It is still waiting to be built. I'm in week 16 in total.

Call your dealership every few days because they'll give you more accurate info than customer service. I had to call mine after my original order was in inspection for around 30 days to find out the order had been cloned and a new Vin was issued.

I ordered 6/8. It sat in inspection for 40 days. Jeep cloned my order on 8/21. Clone is now in inspection since last week. Meanwhile, my original order that was in inspection status for 40 days is now at the dealer.

Jeep found an “issue with my build,” so I am a bit hesitant to accept the original order. I waited this long, so I don’t mind waiting for one without an issue.

I’ve been keeping in touch with my salesman. He’s still seeing “I” status and asks if Jeep tells me different.

My salesman said it was body related, but not the frame. That’s all he told me. I’m not sure how he found this out as I tried numerous times through Jeep and wasn’t able to find anything out.

Jeep chat told me I’m in KZM status now! Which appears to be shipping or “first rail departure!”

Same here. Original order 6/11. Cloned order still stalled in inspection. Uggh

There's hope... Mine hit JB status on 9/30 and KZ status on 10/2. Looks like it should arrive sometime in week 17... (ordered 6/11). Good luck to everyone else who's stuck in purgatory.

Still no answer on mine. My dealer contacted their rep two weeks ago and haven't heard anything. The guy that orders everything for the dealership said he has been doing it for 30 years and has never seen a vehicle get hung up like mine has.

Your original order has been in inspection for 2 months now?

From what I've read from other people's orders (as well as my own), after about a month in inspection, the order gets cloned and a new vin is issued.

Make sure your salesman looks into it and checks to see if you've been issued a new vin.

I get updates from my salesman twice a week. No sign of my order having been cloned and the dealers rep at Jeep hasn't given them an answer in two weeks now.

My 2019 has landed in “I”. Hopefully this isn’t a bad sign.
