It is a full floater but any FF I've had my hands on the ends of the axle tubes were machined like an enormous spindle. The hubs had inner and outer bearings that rode directly on the tube. Not a bolt on extension/accessory like this.

I’d be happy to have one, being unable to justify the expense of tons and having bent axle flanges on a couple of D44s over the years. I don’t think these hubs would bend, as that’s not a tuning on the front unit bearing hubs. I wish he had reported on spline count. I don’t see the taper as a major problem, as all axles are pretty much limited by the diameter at the splines…if these are 32 spline outers like the previous generation inner.

Did not learn a lot on a video that lasted 17+ min. My take is looks like a great and EASY way to add some Chrome Moly shafts. Should be good for up to 37s and moderate wheeling. Moderate means limited time on the trails which applies to most of you who have jobs and families so you are not banging trails across the US like I did for almost 10 years....I sold my company took a break in life, told wife I was going wheeling as a result I moved out to Scottsdale AZ to be centrally located tween Texas and Cali, Utah and Mexico. See ya later dear wife. LOL, she said GREAT, you will be out of my hair, have a good time. This is why I went full fu Manchu with Dynatrac ProRocki 60s Full floats, 35 spline, ARBs F/R. I did have to replace the front wheel bearings about half thru my wheeling. Sand and Salt water from the Sea of Cortez Mexico was the culprit.

Wife did ask if I was going to Moab with this Jeep...dunno, what has me worried is the amount of Electronics in these JLs. This tells me my HARD-CORE wheeling days are over, if I wanted to do I what did again, I would build another TJ...

Those shafts are a lot closer to the old 2 piece shafts found in the CJ’s model 20 axle than the true full floating shaft.
I see stripped splines in their future, just like the CJ’s.

The rear hub somewhat reminds me of front hubs on IFS 1/2 ton pickups. Not sure the extra complication is worth the effort. If I had a 2023 Rubicon, that rear axle wouldn't tempt me to trade.

I'll disagree. The AMC 20 didn't even have splines on the hub. They had a keyway, and the key would shear easily, destroying the hub and axle shaft. These look like they're splined identically to the front shaft/hub that has been used since the YJ (but improved upon over the years). I've never seen one of them shear the splines off. Break at the splines- sure, but not shear them off the shaft.

The AMC 20 on the grand wagoneer had thicker tubes and the factory welded the hub to the shaft after bolting it on so it was marginally stronger than the one in the CJ.

Since I have a 2023 JLU XR I am going to remember this one post and forget all the rest. Hopefully...

I will say I don't know anything about what you all are discussing, but learned a lot from that first video., LOL.
