There’s nothing like the smell of a new set of tires in the garage!

So far, these 295/70/18 (installed Apr 7th) tires definitely justify what I paid aesthetically. They look outstanding to me. The sidebiters are significantly larger than what they appeared in the few pre-release pictures floating around the past couple of months. It’s not Trepador big, but for an AT... they are stout compared to anything I know of currently available.

Noise; I rolled down the windows at various speeds and, for now, there’s not a peep out of them. At the least, it’s no louder than my factory drivetrain noise. They are, at minimum, imperceptible to my wife or myself.

Street driving; they are more responsive than my factory tires.

I re-calibrated with my Tazer and with my 2.0 eTorque, I asked my wife if the power noticeably changed. She didn’t notice anything although I know for a fact there’s got to be simply due to weight. I have not weighed the wheel/tire yet. I think these wheels are 25lbs. The tires are listed at 66.4 lbs. (edit:wrong! MT listed the wrong weight initially)

I have both the Rubicon upgrade and these Sahara upgrade wheels and went with the tire I chose because of size availability. A 12.5 was the narrowest besides the uber skinny 255/85/17 that is listed at 34.6” tall! I like pizza cutter but that’s just a bit too narrow for me. The 295/70/18 Baja Boss AT was as tall as I wanted and just the right width as well.

As expected, I need to get my 1” Bora hubcentric wheel spacers installed because at full lock, those Yuge sidebiters rub pretty hard. With those on, it’ll match up really well to the Rubi fenders I just installed. I’m getting the part numbers to the rear bumper end caps to match the fenders btw.

It drives great. No gripes so far. I’m looking forward to getting them dirty. I still have some work to do so I’m hoping for next month to be able to go somewhere local for testing these and the Apex Autolynx. I’m hoping to get lucky and not need to break out the heat gun.

Oh, and they only initially ordered 4. SMH. The spare is getting mounted in a few minutes.

The carrier is from a Rubicon and I only have the Mopar tailgate reinforcement so it does touch the third brake light mount as pictured but it flexes just enough to make room. The wiper arm operates just fine with plenty of clearance too.

Those look to be just as awesome as I was expecting, and must admit, this pic really does show how deep those side-biters are! Look forward to more updates as you get time with them, have little doubt these will be the new gold standard for AT tires  :handsinair: :like:

Those are looking way better on a Jeep then in the website stand alone pictures. The voids look larger than I originally thought, these now have become extremely tempting, thanks for sharing.

With those side biters as significant as they are, what a whopping footprint you'll have when you air down w/ the full treadblock & sidewall able to dig in and get up & over. Should be eye-opening once you get in that situation!

I hope that ends up being true. I’m surprised there’s no initial reviews yet that I’ve found.

I’d check the weights for any MT BB AT you might be considering again. Now my tires show 75lbs on the MT website instead of 66.4 that it used to show on the site. That’s no small difference and irritating if that’s the case.

Edit: I did more looking around at other tires and surely there’s a glitch or something on their website. 75 lbs is more than any other tire, Mud or AT, that I can find in 295/70/18. The Nitto Trail Grappler in my size is the heaviest I can find and tiresize.com says 72.8 lbs. I guess a call to the tech line would clear that up.

Cheap bathroom scale zero’d out. 98 lbs so they’re not light. I guess you can’t have it all without the weight. That powerply sidewall, the biters, tread depth, and 34.5” tall with 3 peak snowflake rating. I might not have bought them if they weren’t listed at 66.4 lbs, a competitive weight, because I’ll definitely be upgrading to RCV’s next fall with the gear change or just throw in a 44. The rear is good with the 44 axle shafts and locker in the redesigned/improved M200 aka 35.

I hope they serve me well. My only gripe so far is they changed the advertised weight. I’m going to call them.

Edit: they offered to work with whoever I purchased them through to arrange for a return but she did say they are heavier. At least they would offer that. I’d rather get some cash back and keep them to try them. I guess that’s asking too much for a misprint huh? lol

I’m gonna run them. I’ll just upgrade this Fall. So far so good besides that. They better deliver the goods in Performance because they’re heavier than the MT version. SMH

The site lists them at 70lbs, is that what you're seeing? I could see that additional weight due to all the "extras" w/ this newest tire. Gotta pay to play I suppose.

I see 75 for my size. That seems about right because the tire and wheel weighs 98. I don’t think these wheels are any heavier than the Rubicon upgrade wheels.

Oops, my bad Daniel, I thought you were running 17s, those 18s, that changes things, makes sense now :) And FWIW, I'd trade some weight for that tire you got, my 315/70/17s came out to 66lbs, but if I could add those killer sidewalls for a few lbs it would be worth it I'm thinking :)

I looked at tiresize.com and this tire size is typically between 61-67 depending on manufacturer. That’s why I was happy to see it listed at 66.4 ... not 75! lol Oh well, I hope they deliver the performance and longevity. The ride is very good and I’ve not noticed a loss in performance on the road though they obviously would kill some acceleration and mileage.

I just put the Bora wheel spacers on and man... she’s looking purdy! I’ll take pics soon. The stance is strong. They might poke out 1/4” of tread on each side. The tire width is just right to me.

Very interested in ordering these tires. Have you notice much of an effect on acceleration with the heavier weight?

I know there’s no way they can’t degrade it but with my 2.0 with eTorque and my not so accurate butt dyno it’s not really noticeable in normal driving.

I ordered them in 35x12.50R17. I will post the weight of the tire when I get them.

Just a few very impromptu pics. This is with the 1” wheel spacers installed unlike the last set of pics. No rubbing at full lock now.

The driver side bumper end cap’s missing because I unwisely trusted some part numbers given on here. I’m using the numbers Benny of Allmoparparts gave me this time. There’s a couple of irregularities that can throw anyone off with these parts diagrams.

I just drove on a short road trip. At hwy speed the extra weight of the tires is more noticeable. It’s much harder to hold 8th, of course, but I’d swear it got just a bit better with some miles. Shrug, maybe wishful thinking. I can imagine telling the wife I need another 4k for gears and I may as well upgrade the axle shafts with some RCV’s. *running away*
