I’m in the LA/OC area and am looking for opinions on dealers for service. Emphasis on mod friendly.

Well, I made this thread yesterday while waiting for my ‘22 JLURD to have its first oil change post break in. I took it to the dealer where it was purchased (Orange Coast), and I have to say I was fairly irritated by the end. I made an appointment and ended up waiting three friggen hours. I was told appointments really don’t matter because you get slotted in amongst the drive ups. Then the service advisor was a bit on the condescending side about me getting the oil changed with only 1100 miles on the odometer. Buddy, if I want to do a post break in oil change, that’s my business.

I’ll be trying the dealer closer to home in Buena Park next. I’ll do my two remaining included oil changes and then I’m just doing it myself.

Best I have found in SoCal is Glenn E Thomas in Signal Hill. Worst = dealership in Huntington Beach.

Ive been happy with my service advisor at John Elway, now Knight Chrysler in Claremont….so far… been taking our Pacifica there routinely. Only took my jeep once for potential warranty claim. Might be a bit far for you.

i know @zeebo56 took his jeep on 3” lift and 37s to a dealer in Anaheim hills who people recommended as mod friendly for warranty work. I believe they got his transmission replaced under warranty.

Correct, I would probably go to J star in Anaheim if I had issues with my Jeep. They have taken care of me before and they deal with modded vehicles and even sell modded vehicles.

Second on both. I took my vehicle in to HB and was told my mods would negate warranty work on a check engine light I couldn’t get to go away on my own. Took it to Glenn E Thomas and they sat me down and told me “let’s figure out how to write this up to make sure it’s covered for you…”.

I read your comment about this dealership and took my JLURD there for its first oil change and they didn’t disappoint. Prompt service, friendly staff. Thanks for the tip!

Good to hear! I have since moved to Valencia and then to Corona and still make the trip to Signal Hill to see Tom and Frank if I need anything.

Well, Signal Hill is a haul but maybe...

Anybody know good dealer service in San Fernando Valley/Ventura County area?
(I need the clutch recall work).

I'm working with Dependable Jeep in the valley right now for a possible goodwill warranty on a 3.6 head gasket failure. They haven't actually done anything yet but have been receptive about helping me out with this. I'll update when I know more

That's strange. I traveled to many dealers, and Huntington Beach treated me the best.
No questions asked on warranty claims, sometimes things I broke (alternator covered in mud). Always gave me the Hertz rentals.
Maybe it's changed recently, haven't been in a few years after moving.

I can say for sure that the west Covina cjdr is garbage.

I’m still going with Redlands CJDR. They are replacing my wife’s front driveshaft in her 24 Willys after she apparently collapsed it in Moab last month. They said they’ll replace it this time, but next time I’ll have to pay out of pocket since I have a 3.5” lift on it. They also recommended an aftermarket DS or a DS spacer, which I’ve never heard of before. They are a bit on the slow side for my liking though, so take that into consideration.

is this for a warranty issue?

why look at only dealers? My jeep is at the dealer now, for like 3 weeks, and I am terrified they have zero idea how to replace an axle. This is based on their troubleshooting sequence to finally get to the axle housing as a defect.
