I know this is an ancient ESS mega-thread and didn't want to start another. I got this on my Wrangler a few months ago and was planning on taking it to the stealership. I went home and the next time I turned the Jeep on the warnings were gone and I scanned the OBDII and there were no active/stored/pending codes.

I typically turn ESS off early on during my driving experience because I don't think the engine gets full Tq immediately after an ESS event. I've been known to stall (6MT) the Jeep out after an ESS event and such an issue doesn't make you a very popular person at a traffic light in the State of Florida.

Any thoughts?

2nd best part of driving a 392 is no ESS - do not miss it at all.
Now if someone would just come up with a simple cam eating MDS disable ( like Range Technology P.N.P. for GM and some F-150’s) so I don’t have to keep tapping it in and out of manual shift to disable we’ll be set.
