I accidentally left the hard top rear glass up when I exited my garage today.

And, well, it tore my entire garage door off of its tracks, bent a few panels, and bent the heck out of the tracks.

The rear wiper assembly is what caught on the bottom edge of the garage door.

When I stopped, it took some finaggling and some reversing to get the tension off of the wiper assembly to actually remove the rear glass from being wedged up against the garage door. This thing took some serious force and there isn't a single crack on the rear glass. It did slightly tweak the wiper assembly, but it is still 100% functional.

As for the garage - I bent everything back into place and managed to get it fully functional as well.

That rear window is made of steel! :punch:

I will not be participating in this forum as of 8/31/2018. It's been a fun ride, but it's time to move on. Take care. - Dustin

You just got lucky in regard to that hatch window. If that window lets say twists a little bit to much it will shatter.

I remember a few months ago a young forum member reported he and his Father were removing the hard top and they tweaked that window just a bit and it shattered. Guess it is like jay walking.... you may get away with it but some day...............................................

@simpleJL
p.s. You are gonna have your Wife rub this in your nose for the next 20+ years..

I've been giving my wife crap for at least 10 years for ripping the side-view mirror of one of our cars coming out of the garage. I can't imagine what she'd say if I ripped the whole garage door off. That's really impressive haha

I busted mine day two taking the hard top off when it flew open and shattered. Luck of the draw I guess.

tell me more about this "dash cam"
It's a dual channel BlackVue DR750S.

Shoots 1080/60 in the front. 1080/30 in the rear.

Best dash cameras that exist. Hand down. I have been using Blackvue cameras for the past 5 years or so.

I did the exact same thing on my previous jeep. You see, I keep the garage door partially down to keep the hummingbirds out. Did not notice, and backed out...Shattered my back glass, and had to replace it. Glad to hear yours held up better.

Sounds like a really racist name for a security camera...
Black is synonymous with blackbox.

Which is what several dash camera companies base their name off of.

Stop making everything about race, ya liberal!
