I have been a bushwalker most of my adult life. Backpack, map and compass I have done numerous walks of multiple days length in Australia and overseas.

Bushwalkers do not like walking on fire trails so we drive as far as we can along the fire trail and park. At the start and the end of a walk, we have often seen Wranglers and Landrover Defenders driving along the fire trails and we have always been dismissive of them.

My trusty Ford Escape wore out after 15 years and about 220,000 k. I needed a new car and to my own surprise, I selected a 2 door Jeep Wrangler. I love my Jeep!

My Jeep is a 2 door Sport. It is not a Rubicon. It is stock standard, it does not have a lift nor big tyres. Yet it is amazingly capable off road! I can go over sections that are much more difficult than I ever imagined!

It means we can get much further along those difficult fire trails.

I have been going out with the Jeep club and having a good time. I am no longer dismissive of Jeeps on fire trails!

So, if you are thinking about a Jeep Wrangler, go for it! I love my Jeep!
