Hello, I just saw your threads. The same thing append to me, on oct 19.
I was going to show my new Jeep to my brother. I had it for 2 week and it had 1000km!
I was driving south and a car was coming from the south and turn right in front of me.
I was slowing down, I hate those light on the highway, they turn red on you often.
When I realize the car was turning, I it the brake but it didn’t stop.
I add my trailer with me and it push the jeep a little. Here a skech!

Damn. Thats a lot of damage on yours. I wonder what the speed differences were between yours and the OP. Or if the Steel Bumper was the reason. It almost seems like your plastic bumper absorbed absolutely zero impact vs the Steel bumper.

No, it didn’t absorb mush, their is just a thin plate in the back of it. Just seem like it can’t slide like a steel bumper and it have side damage because of it (see the frame ends).

So did you get a replacement already or they claim to be able to fix it?

I may have slow down a bit, before the impact, but the other car have suffer as mush as your.
But I have about 10000$ can worth of damage. Still not finish, in the shop right now. Then rear cross member that hold the hitch have been twiss to.
I ask if they could change the hole frame, but they wouldn’t.

I don't get how your hitch was damaged...it sure looks like the frame took a serious hit there. Mine was merely deformed where the bumper connects to it.

My speed was about 5mph but the other vehicle was at around 55....and she connected my bumper with a 45 degree angle, acting like a ramp. That's likely the reason i didn't suffer more damage. That being said, the plastic bumper looks like it does absolutely nothing compared to the steel one.

Hitch was damaged because he was towing a Trailer. So you essentially have energy from the front impact and the trailer pushing forward when impact occurred.

The other car in my case was turning, so maybe 5 m/h and i may have slow down to 25 m/h (I use KM, usualy).
The plastic bumper get smash and then it provide grip to the other vehicule.

Sounds good. Hope your repairs will go well for you. I've been waiting for parts for a while now.
