We had a cold front come though Minnesota today. Started at 34 degrees and no wind this morning, and by the afternoon, it was 8 degrees above zero with winds gusting to 45 mph. I went to start my Jeep (remote start) and it wouldn't work. I started the Jeep with the push button and it was idling strange. It would not come down from about 1200 rpm and would then fluctuate between 1500 rpm and 700 rpm. An error message appeared saying something about idle speed and the check engine light came on. While at a stoplight, it went into "Limp Mode" and I barely made it through the busy intersection. I pulled into a parking lot. Shut the Jeep down, restarted it, and everything seemed fine. The check engine light is still on, but it idles like it should again. I have less than 12,500 miles and I know it's under warranty, but I'm curious if anyone else has had this happen. Maybe just the cold weather and wind? A speck of debris in the idle control valve?
