With a few weeks of JL ownership under my belt, I have noticed several QC-related shortfalls that are pretty well-known and have been discussed elsewhere in the forum. Given the dealership's lack of understanding and specificity in explaining the components of the HD electrical group, I'm starting to wonder if the alternator is actually the correct HD 240-amp unit that's supposed to be under the hood. Just curious if there's a part number or other marking on the alternator that would allow me to confirm this. More than likely it is correct, but it also wouldn't surprise me if the standard alternator was installed. Appreciate any info, photos, links, or other feedback that would help identify which one it is. Many thanks.

I'll be watching this thread. I'm getting ready to order a 392 and inquiring minds want to know.

I think the HD alternator was made in Japan, and the standard one is made in Mexico, if you can see the label anywhere under there.

Thanks...and wow...there's nothing that even looks like that under my hood. I have a 2-door, so wondering if there's a difference between 2-door and 4-door alternators. Here's mine:

You don’t have an alternator, you have the 48v generator. So, not sure what those are rated at.

Thanks, all....I guess this brings me to what I should've really asked in the beginning: Is there a difference in the generator that comes with the 3.6L eTorque, when you order the HD electrical group? If not, then this seems somewhat deceptive on FCA's part.
