Hey guys,

I have had ICON 2.5 lift for about a year now, and eversince it was new, it drove bit harsh for my taste... it feel almost like rebounce is just too stiff. All small bumps on the road, it feels stiff but at the same time, on a big dump or on the corner, it feels soft (heavy body rolls). Where I live, the bad road and all pot holes, it doesnt drive as smooth.. what do you recommend? should I just get a new shocks? may be FOX 2.0 or 2.5 or get the whole new lift kit with spring?

I am not sure if it is spring or shocks.. any thought or similar experience? btw, my Gladiator with rubicon fox shocks and spring drives super smooth so hope to find something similar.

BTW, I got KO2 35" with 30psi.. so it can't be tire pressure

thanks!!

Those springs were super smooth with the soft rocksport shocks on our 2019. When we switched to fox 2.0s it was definitely firmer, but I wouldn't call it harsh by any means.

Did your Icon lift include front lower control arms, front track bar and a rear track bar bracket? What load are your 35 KO2’s and can you provide us with an alignment sheet or tell us what your front caster is?
Lastly, do you notice a difference in ride quality when you have additional passengers in the Jeep?

Edit: I read in another thread of yours that you have the stage 3 icon lift which includes the above mentioned parts.

I would call Icon support and ask about valving changes. Changing valving is $50 per shock.

I have the stage 3 on my 22 rubicon and absolutly love the ride. Everyone thst rides in it comments on how well it rides. You could have a defective\ miss valved shocks. I would call and talk to them.

This lift is really designed around a 4 door and putting it on a lighter 2 door will be a little more harsh and gain way more then 2.5” of lift. I have the Stage 7 on my 23 2 door, but wouldn’t say it’s rough in my opinion. The downside with this kit and your Stage 4, is the front lower control arms are fixed. We don’t get enough caster on a 2 door and can’t be adjusted due to being fixed. I don’t recall exactly what my caster is, but want to say 3 something (worse than stock). It’s not unlivable though. Wanders a bit over 70… I am running 37’s Ko2 load C at 37-38.

However, it’s not as smooth as my old 21 JLR with swapped JLUR springs and fox shocks.

The Icon stage 4 and stage 7 both come with front adjustable uppers that you can use to increase caster, and adjustable rear lowers you can use to adjust rear pinion angle if needed…….
