I’m with you.

I think for those of us who have been around for awhile, it is difficult to shake the long-held view of Wrangler as a spartan, utilitarian, affordable 4x4.
Hi Aldo,
I agree............

I have been into Jeeps, since the 70's. They are still my favorite Vehicle. But if I was going to spend $82,000 for a Vehicle, which I can afford to do, it would not be a Wrangler. But each to their own..;)
But you need to test drive a 392 :) I still ask myself why I spent so much on one but every time I push the pedal to my giant brick on wheels, I tell myself it was worth it. Other than the 10.2 miles per gallon I’m getting haha

I had the exact same scenario go through my mind. I love the new Vette and would get one if I didn't have two younger kids. I also love my 392, but fully built plus ADM, plus shipping (saved me $15K on ADM), plus tax and I'm over $100K on a Jeep. That's a weird thing to say and I won't even tell my friends that one. I could buy two non-392's for that, or a lot of things. In the end I wanted a 392 badly enough to pay, but it's certainly true you can get a lot for that amount of money.

The C8 is an excellent value and is quicker than many European exotics, costing twice as much.

I am a Corvette guy, but the truth is, I have more fun with my Wrangler.
Totally agree, I recently sold my 911 because the road conditions where I live made me appreciate the Jeep a lot more. Behind the wheel of the 911, I’d be cringing most of the time, worried that I’d end-up breaking something. Behind the wheel of the Jeep, I’m like “bring it on “.

Depends on what you are doing with each for fun. Driving yourself around on the street (assuming good roads), I'd say Corvette.

But, if you're talking "offroad" things, then you need to account for "offroad" in both. Obviously, it's rock crawling, trail riding, etc. in a Jeep. Plus $10k in mods.

Now, take Vette and another $10k and get some racing clicks, helmet, and some minor engine/suspension mods - you're talking one hell of a track toy. Something that is likely to be able to outpace any street-legal car out there, and most dedicated racecars.

Which is more fun? Depends on you. I've done the "not gonna be happy unless I'm going mach 2 with my hair on fire" thing for years. It's addictive and fun as hell. Now I've got the Jeep, and it's a different kind of "laid back" fun.

Under Invoice, lol

You can't even find one for MSRP.
That is if you can find a C8 at all. I bought my C7 from Criswell Chevy in Maryland. Even with the allocation numbers that Criswell has for Corvette's, everyone they get in is a sold unit. Heck, I'm not even sure what the wait time is on a C8 these days.

THIS

I came out of a Focus RS. Just being able to park without trashing a $2300 CDN wheel is worth it. (yes OEM RS wheels are that much......each lol)

2021 Jeep Wrangler 392 XR - $82,580

So you could buy a Corvette, and have enough left over to buy 2/3rds of a base Wrangler.

Even a top of the line Rubicon comes in over the Vette. Not saying it is wrong, but dang I would have never guessed that would have happened 10 years ago.

Anyone up for a game of "What other nice cars can you buy for less than a Wrangler?"

Jeep Wrangler JL I would have never thought this even 10 years ago. AA5082E1-9836-4A39-AC92-2F03DBA146F2

The corvette would be closer in price if it had the Trail Boss trim with 4x4, the lift and lockers.

I'm not sure what the point is.

The C8 has a price point that goes from $62K to over $124K (estimated Z06 top end).
The JL has a price range that goes from $30K-$85K

So is the point that the C8 is roughly twice as expensive as a JL?

P.S. One thing that we can say for certain, and I think that is a good thing, is that both the Corvette and Wrangler have expanded their price range on the top end (more options/capability for extra $$$), while keeping the entry level affordable. Nothing wrong with that. The entry level for both is still attainable to vast numbers of Americans with hard work and saving discipline.

I just came across this website, but it has some great info. This is a really nice tool to have.

With the exception of Porsches, German cars depreciate like a rock! Especially once the warranty runs out.

They are great to lease, but very expensive to own --and repair.
