I have a 2024 and find the same thing - USB reboots every 5-30 minutes. Usually when I am running a map on the screen and have just come to an intersection and there are 12 people behind me asking why I am not moving. Anyhow.

I wonder if something like this would help:

https://www.amazon.com/PortaPow-3rd-Gen-Data-Blocker/dp/B00T0DW3F8?th=1

USB adapter which pass the power and ground through but not the data lines.

Also I find the ACC acceleration wildly aggressive, and wish I could turn it down. Scenario: in multiple lanes of traffic, the lane I am in slows down. The two cars in front of you switch lanes. The Jeep sees open space, floors the throttle, downshifts two gears and accelerates. Moments later it see the stopped vehicles and slams on the brakes.
I experience the same thing, hate the violent downshift just to increase 2-3 mph.

interesting about the trap door for the hard top harness and washer fluid connection. I run the soft top May-September and toggle between Safari mode and fully open often. I'm very deliberate when open / closing as I don't want to damage that connection.

The trap door looks like it would safely tuck everything out of the way, but it sounds as if the fit isn't that great?
It is a tight fit, but when you get everything in, it is protected better than the old setup.

I'm surprised how much people like the infotainment layout

My last 3 vehicles (staring in 2016) before this one (24 JLUW) had carplay, all with less wide ratio screens, and I preferred all of them to this one). I don't really understand the desire for a super wide map, and I prefer to have music/podcast/whatever to the side. Of course that's still possible here, but music/podcast/whatever is basically over in front of the passenger; I'd rather the right 3rd of the screen not even exist to be honest, so the map would be a square and the music a square next to it.

And the top bar is basically a bunch of useless or redundant info and mostly a waste, imo. I'd rather carplay be able to fill the screen vertically and maybe have larger text as a result.

Perhaps more unpopular opinion - I'd even move the "Home" "Media" "Comfort" etc buttons to the right when using carplay, so carplay could be even further left. I never use these from within carplay. Or even just remove them and use the carplay "UConnect" button to escape back to the vehicle menu, so carplay can just fill the entire screen.

Most of my complaints really revolve around everything being too far to the right. The whole display is offset toward the passenger and its weird. And fwiw, my wife has had carplay in her vehicle for a while, and also agrees that this one feels awkward by comparison mostly due to the positioning.

Carplay could solve some of this by allowing a 1x3 layout, where I could have map, then music/podcast, then some other app or blank space and basically accomplish what I want.

Also, the tinyest of nitpicks, but as a web dev, the arrow on the active 'app' not being vertically centered drives me nuts lol

As a side note, so I'm not only complaining, I do like the screen off feature for night driving
I’m not super crazy about the screen size. I think something around 10” would’ve been perfect. With that said, I love the updates to the Unconnect system. There are more options for customization and the off-road pages load much faster.

That Hotspot icon can be changed if you long press it I believe. I have the 'phone management' button there to easily swap android auto/car play between the wife's and my phones.

Also if you get JSCAN, you can activate the auto-highbeams since it has the camera. They're a little spastic as they're a bit aggressive, but it works fairly well.

Same thoughts with the Adaptive Cruise Control, it's rather aggressive haha. Highway I'll keep it on the closest setting to reduce the auto-braking, but on like a 1 lane follow the leader type road I'll space it out.

Phone-wise I have a dumb charger in the cigarette lighter and the bullet point phone mount. I like the setup but the wire can get annoying at times. I don't stream music all the time, so I'll run maps on my phone and like xm on the radio to see both without having to flip back and forth. I wish XM and Android Auto could share the damn screen.

Does yours randomly chime btw? Mine does and I haven't figured it out yet. Seemingly no rhyme or reason. Sounds like a little notification chime.

The chime you are hearing is probably from the built in nav alerting you to a red light camera or something related. Mine did it for a while before I figured it out.
