I have noticed in my Willy's that the AT shifting from 6th through 8th gear is a little "choppy". I can feel it lurch a bit.

I have around 1k miles on it, just picked it up on July 10th. Haven't done anything but grocery shop with it so far.

Does anyone have any thoughts on that? Should I be rushing to my dealer before the tranny drops out?

I changed the hotspot icon this AM, I swapped it to the rear view camera. I love that, I used to move it to the lower right corner of the tray in my old Jeeps, as I use it when I pull into my garage to reference where to park. It was annoying me that it was cumbersome to get to, now it’s perfect.

Really great thorough review...I have a few nits and picks, but overall...I really love my ridiculously overpriced RubiX. BTW, the one touch top is an amazing alternative for me over topless and panels...Enjoy, and thanks for sharing.

Great review! Enjoy your new ride. My takeaway….seems like Stellantis can’t seem how to move forward with the Jeep in any of the following; quality, design, content, or value. Sales will continue to decrease.

Don't all 2024 Wranglers come with wireless carplay?

I have the twin to yours except MT, SOT, Safety Pack but no alpine. First Jeep. My 3.6L has a miss at 1700 rpm. Clutch is extremely light. The MT is not as engaging as I expected. Maybe when they sort out the miss I'll like it better. Enjoy the SOT far more than I ever thought I would. Love the big screen and center dash screen. Wireless Carplay is a joy.
My ‘24 3.6L with the 8 speed auto also has a miss at 1700 rpm.

Generally it happens during the 3-4 shift, but I have noticed it during any shift that occurs in the vicinity of 1700 rpm. It’s very violent when you are towing a load…as if someone turned the ignition off and then back on in a fraction of a second.

At first, I thought it was a mechanical problem with the transmission, but now I believe it has something to do with torque management strategies or spark/fueling tables programmed in the PCM.

There are others with the same problem. Hope Stellantis finds a fix soon, but I’m not holding my breath.

The 850RE is an adaptive transmission. It will, over time, learn the driving habits of the operator, and adjust the shift points accordingly. E.g., as a fairly conservative driver, there are times when I just pivot to the AutoStick feature in order to grab a lower gear that the transmission doesn't think I need yet.

That's not to say that the shift action should be choppy, or rough. It shouldn't.

What you might consider doing first is checking the fluid level to ensure that it isn't low from the factory. There's an excellent DIY thread here.

I have a 2024 and find the same thing - USB reboots every 5-30 minutes. Usually when I am running a map on the screen and have just come to an intersection and there are 12 people behind me asking why I am not moving. Anyhow.

I wonder if something like this would help:

https://www.amazon.com/PortaPow-3rd-Gen-Data-Blocker/dp/B00T0DW3F8?th=1

USB adapter which pass the power and ground through but not the data lines.

Also I find the ACC acceleration wildly aggressive, and wish I could turn it down. Scenario: in multiple lanes of traffic, the lane I am in slows down. The two cars in front of you switch lanes. The Jeep sees open space, floors the throttle, downshifts two gears and accelerates. Moments later it see the stopped vehicles and slams on the brakes.

Yeah and I may do that. But looking at it, it looks like there’s an arm that is connected in the box and comes down and attaches to the mirror. I thought if there was a way to swap that arm out it would be killer. Then I thought maybe if no one makes a shorter arm there’s a business opportunity there. Who knows.
You’ll have to do some searching, there was a member about a month or two ago that found a shorter arm that worked. I can’t remember where I saw it for the life of me, but I know it has been done recently.

Stellantis purchased the "restaurant" from Chrysler that came with the recipes. ;)

Unfortunately, and especially since the pandemic - all automakers are all playing the same game with lower quality and higher prices. In terms of Jeep, I was hoping Ford would be more competition for them but Ford's prices are actually higher.
