I searched and found approximately 10,000 threads but really didn't find what I am looking for. My dad has a 5x8 trailer that accepts a 4 pin wiring harness (7 with an adapter) that I want to pull with my Jeep. I found some plug and play options but they are all for a JK or TJ. Who makes one for a JL?

Any standard 4-to-7 pin adapter will work. You can get them nearly anywhere; Walmart, auto store, U-Haul, ext...

Are they pretty easy to hook up?

You just plug the adapter into your Jeep and the plug from the trailer into it.

I think I might be misunderstanding your original question.

Does your Jeep have this?

If you have it, you just need to plug your trailer connection into it; no adapter required.

If you don’t have it, then ignore everything I’ve said.

It sounds like you need the harness. I got one from Curt... It's listed for the JL Unlimited but I can confirm it worked on my 2 door Rubicon. You'll need to fish a wire underneath to the battery. It's not hard, bit it is tedious. The other bits plug in behind the tail lights. Look it up on etrailer and buy on Amazon, that's what I did.
Edit- Curt 56407 it's $64 on prime
Here it is wrapped around my tow hook.

Yeah, that's what I need. Why do you have it wrapped around your tow hook? Too much extra wire?

Looks like this is what you have

Looks like a lot of wires

Here is the Q equivalent for $70.

It's not as many as you think. The tail light harnesses go in their spots, the box sits behind the driver tail, the ground can go on a bolt there, the positive goes up to the battery. That's it. A few zip ties and you're done. It's really not long, I just put it there when I'm not using it.
