It sounds like you want the diesel. If that's the case and you can afford the loss then do what makes you happy. I think you have an awesome Jeep and I really like the power of the 2.0 eTorque as I have the same engine. It is actually underrated from the factory and has more torque then listed. I would drive a diesel and see if there is really that much of a difference. I actually did the opposite of you and bought a sport first thinking I didn't need a Rubicon. I regretted not having a Rubicon as I came from a 2013 Rubicon and ended up trading my sport in for my current Rubicon. Luckily I got a killer deal on the Rubicon so wasn't really a hit financially.

Rubi is everything a Sahara is. Rubi has more options if you want to Rock crawl right out of the dealership. I own a Sahara, and would have gotten a Rubi but did not want to spend so much for what was never gonna get used. so on one hand you have a jeep that will take you places you have never been and will have a same upgrade options as a Sahara. on the other if you go Diesel you will save of gas depending on oil prices give or take. i say keep the Recon and turn it into a tank. and go on an adventure. cause life is short, enjoy the freedom that comes with owing a JEEP.

I bought 2 Sahara's, my wife loves the look of the Rubi, but the ride not so much... So, we are replacing the wheels/tires on her Sahara with Rubi wheels/tires plus a spacer to give it a better stance. I've already replaced my wheels/tires and the front bumper, etc. Love the look of my jeep and get a ton of compliments at stop lights, grocery stores, etc.

I'll give you $100 CASH MONEY....for the Rubicon. :CWL:
Cheapskate!

I'll go $200 cash, plus a $50 Applebees gift card.

In all seriousness, OP, keep whatcha got. Instead of letting time spent with the family to get in the way off exploring the off road, turn off road adventures into a family activity.

I have steel bumpers (front + back w/ sensors) + the Rubi hood on my Sahara..
I like the Jeep specifically the JL's...this thing will never see a rock or trail. It'll only see malls, and snow.

it is what it is. I plastidipped my wheels, but I want the 20" High altitude wheels now.
