I also have this problem with the 7 inch system(don’t know if that’s alpine or not). I resent the signal from the SiriusXM website and it helped slightly but still sucks. My Tundra and my wife’s Legacy are far better at reception than the JL. I searched for this and found several forums where this was complained about and, well, I accepted it and moved on. When it annoys me I switch to terrestrial radio, my phone or just turn it off all together. Not sure I’d pay for the service after which sucks for SiriusXM but oh well.

I found that to be of no use. They replaced mine and the new one was as bad as the old one.
Hmm, perhaps the problem is the physical antenna then. In the past, the head units were the common failure point.

Ever since we brought my wife's new JLU home, I have been jonesing for one of my own. Well that urge came to a grinding halt the other day as her Alpine radio started cutting in and out . At first I though it was searching for a signal , as SAT radio does that when briefly out of range. ( mountains etc ). However that is not the problem and apparently FCA does not know what the problem is, as this goes back to 2018 with no fix! There is a thread that goes all the way back to October 2018, where the problem is brought up, and continues to present day with no fix. I will be damed if Im gonna by myself a Jeep with this issue ! If a solution is not on the horizon we will unload this fantastic car ! We love this vehicle and are just bummed about it! :headbang:
Seriously? You consider yourself a Jeeper... totally into Jeeps, crazy about them. You had Jeep fever you say? So the first problem that pops up you're ready to give up? Sell your Wrangler?
I say sell it... you are definitely NOT a Jeeper in my opinion... and the fact that you refer to your Jeep as a car just reinforces my opinion of you.
Now go sell your Wrangler and with any luck she'll end up with an owner who is capable. An owner who can resolve problems rather than go online and cry about them.
Jeep fever?? Yeah right. Trust me, you've never had Jeep Fever. Too bad though... maybe it would have put some hair on your chest and firmed up that "wet fish" handshake of yours.

I bought a new SRT last year, and when trying to voice-text free-form with Android Auto it wouldn't work. Tried a bunch of different things and still could not get it to work. Had a Hellcat on order, so when dealer called to say it was ready for delivery, told them I wanted to try the free-form voice-texting at the dealership before driving off with this one, since I still had the problem with the previous purchase. (many chats with FCA over it) So we sat in the new H-cat and sure enough, couldn't free-form voice-text in it ether. But dealer went and got other random employees' phones, and sure enough, it worked on all their phones. Long story short - come to find out the head units were fine, but AT&T business accounts use a different technology between phones on the same account, and that tech doesn't allow for free-form voice-text with Android Auto - got new phones with Verizon and problem solved!
Lesson - I was assuming the problem was an FCA problem when in the end, it was not. I'm on my twenty-something'th FCA new vehicle in less than twenty years, and although they have't all been perfect, they have been better to me than the times I stepped out and bought a Chevy/GMC - talk about quality issues!

I think it is pathetic that vehicles today are so unbelievably and needlessly complicated, that even the so-called engineers that built them don't know how to fix them. I have a different problem with my JL but the same general situation. Nobody is ever gonna call US the greatest generation.

Having owner Mercedes Benz I feel your pain.

wow! talk about rabid. I enjoy my Jeep, but I'm not, nor will ever be a Jeeper. I will not do the wave just because someone has the same car I have. Sorry, there is no connection to these folks. But, they will wave as you are broken down on the side of the road. Do I like my Jeep, yes, do I enjoy customizing it, yes, do I enjoy reading about others experiences with Jeep, sometimes. The point is, to call a car a 'she' like 'she' has feelings is just crazy. I don't have Jeep fever, nor do I ever want Jeep fever. Just feels creepy to me. I enjoy cars, all kinds. To say not having Jeep Fever means you are not a man, well, that's just crazy talk.

Honestly, my radio cuts out a lot while listening to xm. I've chalked it up to being normal since none of the techs care to chase that issue, they all want to say "No problem found." But, ever since I got my Jeep back from the dealer, after it sat there for over a month and a half waiting for it'd new alternator, I don't care for my Jeep much any more. They fixed the alternator and they "N. P. F'd" all my other issues. I asked about my steering wheel making a horrendous clicking noise when turning... "NPF" My cooling fan is SCREAMING when the engine gets to operating temp and the AC is on, not as cold as it will go and not on full fan, just on and about 65-70, "NPF". That and the fact the tech working on it left fingerprints, grease, some minor scratches, and there was a phone number embedded in my fender. Yes I brought it to the attention of the manager and he just said "Eh, buff it." Everything about my customer service experience between the dealer and also Chrysler support.... It's been piss poor in every way. It's truly made me not want my Jeep any more. It's sad because I spent over a year debating on whether I should buy this Jeep or go with something else. I fell in love with it the second I got behind the wheel. Thought it was the best vehicle ever. And now after all this crap, time, aggravation, stress it has caused me from these stupid issues, that it truly should not have being a brand new vehicle and all.... I agree, I no longer have the fever either
Hi Cmcclaflin31,
We certainly understand your frustration and regret to hear about your ongoing concerns. Have you considered vising a different dealer to get a second opinion? We would like to connect you with a Case Specialist in order to try and help you get these concerns addressed. Please send us a private message at your earliest convenience.

Have you had a change to visit your dealer to have this documented and inspected, jarvis? If not, we'd be happy to help you do so! Please send us a private message if you plan to go this route.

Jeeps goin in Friday am at 8.
Please let us know how your appointment goes, higbyz! We're available via PM if you need any additional assistance.

Thanks for reaching out to me. I had a previous case with my alternator going bad. I have thought of going to another dealer around me, but all 3 of them are owned by the same company and I've heard all 3 have the same type of service. I only brought it back to this dealer because I want them to right their wrongs. Not that they will, but I hope they do. Also, if I keep this Jeep, I will be driving a considerable amount further to have warranty work done at 1 of 2 other dealers much further away that I have heard nothing but good things about.

So much of what I've read in this thread boils down to poorly run dealerships that are not customer focused. The post sale dealer experience has a huge impact on customer satisfaction. Where I live I've had bad experiences with my local Porsche dealer, very good experiences with my local BMW dealer, average (some good home bad) experiences with my Chrysler dealer and, so far at least, a good experience with my Jeep dealer, but the sample size is small. Overall I feel my 3 jeeps have acceptable build quality and now it up to the dealer network to deliver on service. FCA can't control this, they can only influence it.

This seems to be a new point-of-view for you.
Please review your initial post.
Last I knew, you were done with Jeeps. Forever.
Now you still love them, and will get it fixed.
If you had started off with a reasonable take like that, none of this would have happened.
You come on an enthusiasts’ forum, say you hate the thing we love, and then get all butthurt when we react.
Morton nailed it when he called you a girly man.

Thank you....I have been validated...no, I am not a Jeeper! I just bought my Jeep and already know my next 'car' will be, an Audi Q7 or a Porsche Cayenne. I like my Jeep and have finally stopped with the mods, but this too shall pass.
