With the recent used car frenzy, my dealer called me the other day to see if I want to trade in my 2018 JLUR for $52k. I don't plan to trade but do want to run the total cost of my Jeep (vehicle + mods) just for fun. I built an Excel spreadsheet and tried my best to recollect the cost of each mod mostly by searching invoices in my email box. I did most of my mods by myself, except tires and gears. Still it shocked me with the "finial cost", and no way I am gonna trade in this for $52k.

Here is the break down list, directly copied from Excel. My 2018 is one of the earliest build with an MSRP of just above $51k, paid about 5% under invoice. With all the mods, excluding labor cost, it is just shy of $80k, come in at $79, 310. This is the most expensive "car" I've ever owned in my life, it is right under my nose but my wife still thinks it is a $45k car, lmao.

Whoa you've pulled off what I've been trying to figure out. My JLUR has stock wheels, tires, and suspension but I'm about ready to upgrade all of that so I can run 37". Currently I have the Rugged Ridge Venator front bumper and I'm concerned it will interfear with the bigger tire.

Can you run through this with me? So you're setup is:
  • Dynatrac 2" lift. The endurosport I presume?
  • AEV Borah JL. Their site says that's got 5.72" of backspacing/+25mm offset.
  • I see you mention Teraflex spacer. Those like bump stops or something. Not wheel spacers right?
  • 37 BFG KO2. I have my heart set on nitto ridge graplers. I wonder how true to size each of those are. 🤔
Anything else you've done that's relevant? I'm not trying to accuse you of mall crawling, but have you flexed all the way out and checked for rubbing? If so how much wiggle room is there for my to experiment with similar-but-not-same wheel/tire?

I just really thought I would have to go to a 4" life to fit 37" tire and not rub the bumper wings. If I can get away on a 2" lift I'd be over the moon.

I went to KBB to get a value and evidently I allowed dealers to contact me. Was a little underhanded I think but anyway getting request for like 47k for my Manual Rubi. I hate unknown numbers calling me.
