Washed the jeep earlier and found this... ON BOTH DOORS

The drivers door is the worse.... paint is bubbling and flaked off....

Went through this with my dodge RAM with the hood... RAM wouldn't fix it... the truck was 4 years old.... but because I was over the mileage for warranty.. it was a no go....

I am still within the warranty with this one... you can bet I am paying them a visit tomorrow!!!!!

That's normal. It's a Jeep thing.

Could the damage be due to stone impingement?

No... they are both located here on both sides with no other damage on the surrounding sheet metal....

I believe FCA offers a 5-year warranty against corrosion.

I’d take it to the dealer.

I've already had the right rear door hinge area repainted on my 2019 JLUR. I'm always looking at the paint on my doors. The problem you're having is not repairable by a dealership to the level that is required. It's an area that will continue to deteriorate to the point there are holes. Looks like the body seam sealer is missing there and allowed the corrosion to get a foothold. I've seen it before in the aluminum doors on big rigs. I'm gonna go look my jeep over now.

Likely due to improper prep. JL doors are aluminum skinned. Aluminum prep is a bit more important than steel. Not only does aluminum need to be clean, it needs to be etched and alodined to allow the paint to adhere.

Good luck. I had paint issues with my JLUR and '17 Pacifica. Paint issues seem to be prevalent across many brands though (based on personal experience and what I have read).

Join the club. I accidentally scratched a door once when I was putting it back on last summer. The small scratch is luckily not too noticeable as it is on one of the lower edges. Still annoying though.

The premium body shops are divided so that they have one work area for steel bodies and a separate work area for aluminum bodies. This prevents contamination of the aluminum sheet metal. I would hope that if a Jeep dealer has a body shop, they do the same since the JL bodies are aluminum, except for the quarter panels.
