Hey crew I found this 2015 Sport in dire need of saving in Kansas City so I drove up yesterday and picked it up after calling and striking a good deal with the sales team given all that had been ‘upgraded’ on the Jeep. It only has 46k miles and seems to have good bones.

I’m going to be changing a LOT on this Jeep so I thought I would start up a thread to document its progress. As an aside, my wife nicknamed it Ric Flair because it is SO over the top. Enjoy, and poke all the fun you want.

No offense, but my daily bowel movement looked better.

Mad respect for trying to save it though.

No worries my friend, the only person I was concerned about was when a friend told me he liked it as it sat......had to block/delete that one!

Well, on a hunch I took the wheels off today.

As suspected, I found 1.5” wheel spacers on each corner, however the front spacers were attached with FOUR nuts and two of those were LOOSE. I’m lucky nothing happened.

I think today was a visually significant and successful day.

Removed horrible wheel spacers
Removed windshield banner
Removed heavy overspray from rear
Painted frame and liners with Rustoleum Pro Grade spray bed liner

Already looks sharp! This thread needs a sad Sarah McLaughlin commercial track in the background and a "for just (cost per month) you can help save an abused Jeep. We'll start a thread and send you a picture of it living a happy life"

That looks like a lot of work in a short period of time. Looking great.

Just heard on the radio that today is Ric Flair's birthday. 72 year old.

Now that is a Jeep that I wouldn't just drive, it's a Jeep I would own. Huge improvement. Still some things I'd change, but nothing so bad that I'd be trying to get it done before driving it. You're doing great things for that Jeep. Good save.

Anyone know the manufacture of that front bumper? I think we should find them and burn the place down so no other defenseless Jeeps can be harmed. Seriously looking tons better all ready, and has confirmed my thinking that a "little" red is ok, but be careful with going too far.

I think it is DV8...?

Someone in a Facebook Jeep group I’m part of referred to it as the DV8 Batman bumper 😖

Thank you for fostering/saving this poor beast! You’ve made it look awesome.

Ya know the two things I’ve always disliked people doing to their Jeeps...angry eyes is one. What is it a Mr/Mrs Potato Head? Potatoes are way more aerodynamic to begin with.

The second is removing the seven slot grill. (I could get behind a nine slot grill because there’s at least history there.) Removing the seven slot is just sad in my opinion.

Kudos for a job well done so far!

This is an awesome rescue project, it already looks so much better.

Now, to continue posting on the JL forum, I think that you need to get a set of these:

Batman? Looks more like the Botox bumper to me. Poor Jeep has a fat lip.
