Lake Mead is down 40+ feet in the last month. Southern Nevada Off Road Rescue has been pulling out multiple vehicles every weekend. Top looks like baked dirt, but underneath is lake bottom mud that has been underwater for decades. Folks are buried to the differential in seconds...

Jeep stayed fairly clean amazingly.
Question for the pro's. Would traction boards have a shot with the Jeep that deep?
if you could get them under the tires they would help. The point is to use them before you get buried. Once you start to spin or sink, if it’s obvious that there’s no traction and you’re going nowhere, you should stop spinning the tires because you will just keep going down.

It may have looked clean to start… but it definitely wasn’t once I started driving and it went flinging everywhere. I was still washing chunks of mud off this weekend, haha.

It was an unexpected detour and wearing flip flops didn’t help. The mud went halfway up my calves (I’m 5’ 11”) and suctioned my flip flops off which meant I went fishing for them, haha.

Yeah… traction boards wouldn’t have done shit in this case since I was in too deep. That suction factor from the mud is huge.

Looks like my Jeep right now after running trails up north for the last four days.

A couple weeks ago, we went out to government wash and made our way down almost to boxcar cove. Wife kept pointing at different spots she wanted to swim and I had to keep telling her no. I was trying to stay on rock or the higher dirt areas. Where she kept wanting to go had cracks and/or random wet spots. I know better than that. Saw a stuck Jeep and a Ram but nobody was around the vehicles so I couldnt help.
