Realistically they'll probably include it in the 2028 redesign.

I believe it comes out in the Rams either 2025 or 2026. More than likely they're going to do just like they did with the EcoDiesel... RAM owners will be the guinea pigs to work out all the bugs before we get it in the Wrangler.
Near my neck of the woods, Carson City has four 2025 Ram 1500 trucks on the lot with the Hurricane.

Lithia in Reno has a Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer with the Hurricane.

I think Stellantis will be changing it's mind regarding all EVs given the recent election. I have a feeling the V8s may be staying or coming back. Time will tell.

Stellantis is a European company that has to live by EU rules. And they are probably looking longer term than one US administration term. They probably won't do a complete 180 on the direction they're going now.

The Hurrican I6 is gonna be in the 2026 JL but only for special order and only if you order it in Oct 2025 so get your shit ready guys its happening.
I'd so order a COPO Hurricane.

Or sell us an engineless option like the kit car guys get and let me jam my own engine in it. Oh-and call it a 1941MY so I don't need emission compliance.

What a grim outlook you have. :CWL:

Maybe. But so much of the CDJR sales are in USA and they need to do something. Like I said, time will tell. Not saying the V8 is here to stay for a bit, but I can see it happening. Either way, I have my 392 and not buying a new Jeep anytime in the next few years for sure.

Wish the rumors that Musk is going to buy out Jeep are true

I've been saying this crap for years now on these forums and noone listens to me. I hate the internet =(

*continues using internet*
Taking the opportunity to continue my Stella Stupid rant. Ford not only keeps PU V8’s, but builds a new BB for Super Duties that outclasses the 6.4 truck engine, still offers standard and extra cabs, keeps improving diesel drivetrains while Ram still uses a 6 spd. Ram sales decreasing, F series sales remain #1….
. I wonder why.

I doubt he would. Too much legacy and inertia, not to mention entanglemet with existing powertrain suppliers. Besides, to get his way he would have a huge fight with the unions that he would probably lose.

I’ve seen some news that the EV charger is going through some changes to retrofit a V8 because the EV mandate is going away. The 5.7 was the most likely as it was easier to fit than the 6.4. There was also a mention of a new 3.9L twin turbo V8 that is in development.

Whichever V8 gets used will probably be brought over to Jeep.

Hmmm- example- the effort to revoke CARB’s about 50 year old grant to not comply with federal standards and set it’s own was being pursued until dropped in January of 21. I have already read the process to revoke it will be back starting January of 25 along with the EV mandates.
It could change again in January of 29. What would you do if you were a vehicle manufacturer ?

hell- WTF am I going to do ? If Ca is required to use federal standards again allowing me to do the performance upgrades those in fre, uh non CARB states can will it be “Not Legal For Use On Public Roadways In California” in 29 ? or 33 etc

You might not agree with this answer but... Nothing. The existing JL Platform has two model years left in it before the J70 Platform replaces it. They are deep into the J70 work with an engineering team that has endured layoffs, low morale and several management changes. Stellantis' Jeep Division simply does not have the resources to change anything more significant than paint and wheels (oh big news - a new soft top color!) before the next generation.

I bet the biggest single discussion item in the meeting rooms at the Jeep headquarters is about the future of the Gladiator. Is the 4xe version available yet? I wonder what's taking so long...

If they get rid of CARB, then I don’t think it will come back so easily. The auto industry has to survive, and that ain’t happening with the greenie mandates that aren’t built on reality. The industry wants to make what sells, not make what doesn’t sell without incentives. They will adjust as quick as they can to make what people want (ie - ICE Charger) and worry about 29 if and when it comes later.
