I just wanted to wish everyone who is in the line of Hurricane Slow Poke, good luck over the next couple of days. If y'all are like me, you'll probably want to ride around in the eye of the storm with the top down listening to Metallica. And that's cool, it comes with the territory. But be careful, and try to be as safe as your inner devil will let you be.
After the storm, if anyone needs help reach out to the Seven Slot Army and maybe we can arrange some supplies. (There are literally 75,000 Jeep owners in Atlanta that dream of this, and think of the stories they'll be able to tell their friends)

PS - If your chainsaw doesn't match your Jeep....you're LAME!!

If you believe that way, maybe consider a prayer for those handful of people who weren’t so lucky in the Bahamas who lost their lives and the few hundred thousand who suffered huge property losses. Glad it’s turning so as to minimize further losses but really sorry it hit them so hard.

CT, you live in texas, as do I. Harvey did a lot of damage locally, but it could have been worse, pray for the Bahamas, brother.

My family is from Hardin County (150 years) and I ran a trailer of supplies out to my great aunt in Beaumont after the storm. That was a LOT of water.

Thanks. We got just shy of 60” here and I wouldn’t wish that on anyone. We received tons of support from all over the world and it was both needed and appreciated. The Beaumont area was even worse off than we were (Chambers county).

Uh and let’s not forget the area that actually got hit by the hurricane (lol)....Rockport and surround areas. They’re still rebuilding. Had several family members that live there. All in all....half of Texas was damaged by one hurricane. But we’re #TexasStrong . Prayers to the Bahamas and stay safe to all those who still have Dorian to go through. Don’t have too many hurricane parties. Haha

Let me just add the comment that human tragedy and weather-born destruction transcend all politics, all social issues, all the perceived differences that today are too often inflated. Anybody that tries to slant commentary on such events for whatever reason is doing everyone a disservice, especially including and starting with him- or herself. Try being flooded. Try losing a loved one. Don't take life for granted. You could very easily be blind-sided.

I got out a bit before we lost light so I could get a few pics. Sustained Winds of 35 MPH. Not too much rain yet but right on the edge of the bands. Supposed to see the worst in the middle of the night. It was the same with Andrew in 1993 and I’ll probably sleep through it.

Also got interviewed by the local weather girl. So we had fun
