I ran the stock rubi rails for about a year. Many trail runs with them. I was just waiting to finally pull the trigger on something better.

Then i saw the thread with pics of damaged bodies. After that, i cringed hard when on the trail and came down on a rock. No issues to my rubi rails other than scatches but it still freaked me out. I sold them and upgraded to Westin Snyper. Since then i have scratched the hell out of them and come down kind of hard a few times but not even a dent in the tubing. Downside is they sit a bit low and seem to hit more but upside is they have awesome platform for standing on.

Rockhard 4x4 has sliders that bolt to the frame, body and pinch seam, they are the only ones I have seen that bolt to every possible spot.
They have tube angled up, tube angled down, and platform...all 3 bolt to the same spots, and they are only $499.
They are IMO the best for protection and price.

And the best part is, they completely hide the pinch seam like the Rubi rails...Check them out if you havn't.

I am just having a hard time deciding on platform or tube angled up...damn brain delaying my ordering lol.

LOD look nice, but seeing the pinch seam bothers me, and their price is quite redonculous.
Thanks for the posting. I thought the same thing when watching the video... with the pinch seem still visible on the LOD rails, that's not good.

I see the Rockhard 4x4 Patriot Series Tube Sliders are offered either angled up or angled down. Other than aesthetics, are there any advantages or disadvantages to the angle? They seem to be $599.95 on their website unless there is a $100 discount available???

I kept my stock Rubi rails and added the Ace sliders “below” them. Now I have great protection, step for wife and kids and it protrudes for more protection in tight places.

Used them extensively in Moab a few times, they perform extremely well. No body damage and no worries!

I have these as well as my Jeeping Buddy and think they are great. The draw for me was a bolt to the frame and you get to keep the sliders that came with the Jeep.

I have these and like them fine. Their packaging leaves a little to be desired and they look like a 4th grader welded them. I won't buy anything else from them.

They went up in price, I got them through a distributor on ebay.
The angle down I would assume is better for lifted jeeps so it puts the step down a few inches as apposed to angled up.
Personally I liked the angled up better

Ex-auto quality engr & mgt. Now just enjoy life.
JK tubs are much stronger structurally than the JL....which is part of the difference.
Where did you get that information? Seems odd since the trend in most vehicles is toward stronger chassis.

I have only had my Rubicon 3 days and my head is spinning from trying to pick out rails and bumpers but I think you nailed it with Rockhard sliders, thanks, 1 down and 2 to go
