My video-game playing, mildly overweight 11 and 13 year olds do fine in the back of my JLU.

Have you tried without the booster seat?
I wouldn't take that chance with his 612 month son. Check at Costco, I'm sure they have the car seat to keep your baby boy safe.

15 & 12 year old fit fine including on long trips. Plenty of space IMO.

Ive had my 17 year old, 6 year old in booster and 18 month old in car seat squeezed back there. A little tight but not bad and no complaints after being on the road for two hours.

Its probably about the same as our Explorer was which we got rid of for Suburban which has so much room for activities!

What does large children mean? Like 300 lbs? I guess then no, they won't be comfortable.
If they are less than 6ft tall and a normal build, then they will be ok.
MUCH, MUCH better than the complete SH§T back seats on the JK.
My TJ was more comfortable in back than my JK was.

I took my 6'2" son and 5'7" daughter on my test drive of the JLU Sahara. They both said the seating and room were fine. I do not think they would say the same for an 8 hour trip however. I've test seated in the back seat and would find it acceptable for around town/ up to an hour or so. Probably not comfortable for an all day drive.
