Hello Guys,

I am trying to install a dashcam and saw the guide for powered mirror but I have ACC, is there a guide somewhere on how to open the ACC box and get a wire from there?

Thanks!

If you just want it while you're driving, not so difficult. Plenty of wires to tap. But if you want to use parking mode (hardwire), you typically need a wire/fuse with power at all times (always hot), a wire/fuse with power when the vehicle is running (hot in start) and ground. I tried tapping a lot of wires which I thought powered at all times (always hot) went off several minutes after the jeep was off and locked. JLs don't have fuse box in the cabin so have to run wires through the firewall.

I just did this the other day. I used the Quadratec power harness that plugs in behind the 12 volt power outlet in the dash. Bought a 12 volt power outlet with positive and negative wires and hooked them up to the Quadratec harness and plugged the dash cam USB adapter in. No cutting. Totally hidden with zip ties under the dash. Easy.

That’s what I was thinking about, but using a USB one instead of the cigarette lighter receptical. Thanks for confirming that it works.

Guys, just tackled this myself, its exactly the same as non-acc.

Only difference is remove the four push pins that have a phillips plastic screw on the "box" of the acc, everything comes down when pulling the panels around the mirror assy.

Did it today, works like a charm. Wouldn’t recommend routing it the method they suggested. Found it much more accessible to route the harness through a gap into the area behind the glove box. Keep in mind not to attach the wiring harness to the cooling pipes, or the cabin air filter housing.

The Quadratec adapter is ignition controlled. Is anyone aware of a continuously powered option?
