I’m not sure if this is the right place but I had to share how I FINALLY fixed my 2 door JL seat that was stuck in the forward position!
Another day of someone getting into the back - they pull the lever and pushed the seat forward as always with no problem… Until I tried to return the seat to the standard position and it would NOT go. The seat just slid back and forth on the rail but wouldn’t click into place to move the back part of the seat.
SOLUTION: Have the seat fully forward for more room to move - reach around under the seat (closest to the door) - there will be a small thin wire cover with black plastic - PULL DOWN (you should hear a click and there will be some light tension) and return your seat to full upright and locking position!!! If it doesn’t work the first time, try it again! It took me 2 pulls the first time to get it
Here are some pictures of the wire. I really hope this helps someone out there. It’s taken me months to figure this out.
