How to adjust?

Passenger side windnoise as the edge doesn't get pulled all the way in the slot....

The back metal rod is in the rail hole, but still...

I probably have something misaligned?

I would ensure the Z clip on that side is installed correctly, if it’s not correctly in the hole in the back it won’t allow the top on that side to be pulled taunt when closed.

The back part of the SR should lay within the rail flat and yours appears to be bunched up alittle so it’s possible that clip is either not in or not in correctly

Here is mine and it lays in the side rails all the way across on both sides

Here’s another shot of how that dam Z clip needs to fit in that hole, they recommend using a piece of black tape over it once installed to keep it in place and remove once installed.

Sure enough. What was tricking me was that I could see it was in place .....and it still is.......but it broke!

Wonder if besttop will send me a replacement wire

bad news good news story......

bad news.... bestop help line is very busy, took me about 5 times calling in to connect and a total of about 3 hours on hold

good news.... bestop service people are very nice and very helpful once you get them

bad news... the z clip and wire are NOT repairable/replaceable

good news... i'm under warranty at just over 2 years, and a replacement top will be in stock in a week and ship out to me free of charge. Thank you Bestop!

Glad they are sending you a new top, I’m hoping this is not a weak spot that is prone to breaking…

I have only had mine in a short period but love the simplicity of flipping just a few levers and nothing to store.

@WranglerMan I absolutely wouldn't say this is a weak spot. The Sunrider for Hardtop is a very sturdy product. We sell too many of these and have too good of a warranty to have a weak spot

Thanks for the reply, yes your SR looks and feels like a solid product and mine has performed flawlessly since installing and I have zero issues and the warranty that backs it indicates your great and stand behind the product, I have only heard about a few of the Z clips breaking from the wire but things do happen so no worries.

I would think it might work but the wire I would think would have to be broke away from the end of the Z clip because if it’s broken at the end how would you attaché the clip to it ?

Round plug end of wire from current top goes in and through the butt splice, set screw keeps it there. Bike wire goes into the z hook hole with plug end behind the slot, then wire into the butt splice. Tension it correctly then set the screws and crimp on the bike wire end piece for extra safety, then cut bike wire
