I’m sure if someone is coming from another 4 or 6 cylinder vehicle it’s adequate, or if they have a light foot. I had a Tahoe before the Jeep and miss the power of the V8, but don’t need a 392. If the 5.7 was an option at 10k or so I’d be all over it though.
The 2.0 having the turbo really makes it feel so much more quick than the 3.6. Quite helpful for making passes on two lane highways.
I've had a couple 4 cylinder Turbo cars. Subaru WRX and a Focus ST. They definitely give you a rush especially when tuned.

There’s probably a better source on the specifics, but it’s one of the mechanical components in the top end of the engine, near the valves.
Did you have this done under warranty or something you opted for on your own?
Cost?

2018 2.0T 2Dr Sport. No engine issues whatsoever. 21 mpg city - 19 mpg highway with 37's. Back on stock tires I was averaging 25-27 daily driving to work 60 miles round trip 70/30 highway/city
I just hit 60k this week.

Seems like the 2 doors get the best MPG out of the 2.0T which makes sense since they are smaller and lighter. Which is good because I'm getting a 2 door.

Glad to hear you're enjoying your 2.0T. It's definitely an intriguing engine. Still not sure which one I'm going with when I order my 2022.

As far as the lack of power from the V6 I think it's all in the gearing depending on which model you drove. I will say I had the 3.6 in a Dodge Charger and it had plenty of power. In that car it's rated for 305 horse power. Make me wonder if we use 93 Octane in the Jeep 3.6 if we'll get the same power instead of using 87 Octane?

One thing I like about the 3.6 is it's super reliable. The one had over 600k miles before something went wrong. Pretty amazing.

The 2011 3.6L was very different then the 3.6L in the JL. They did a very large redesign to get weight down, costs down, friction down, economy up. All this will impact longevity.

Doesn't mean the new 3.6L is bad, just likely nowhere near the prior model.

For example they went to narrower bearings to save friction and low friction rings - both things that bring better economy but not longevity.

I'm in Socal (OC) too.
What dealership did you go through for the warranty work?
I go to the Hemet Jeep dealer. It’s about an hour drive for me, but they have a great service department.

Welp that F-ing sucks. Everything is about economy and emissions any more. I'm tired of it. If that's the case maybe I'll end up getting the 2.0T after all.

It's been in use since 2016 on some other FCA models; just was not used in the Wrangler until 2018 with the new JL.

So it's now been out for 5 to 6 years and no huge number of issues so I would not worry about it. Just don't assume you get 650,000 miles out of it.

The good news is the 3.6L is used in so many things you can get a used one from a wreck for super cheap so if you do ever have issues after warranty you have options to replace it without needing to go via the dealership.

Or spend $1500 on the 8 year/unlimited max-care warranty.

Typically means a valve lifter, but it can mean rocker arm.
