Probably tough question to answer but here goes… Anyone know roughly how much to stock Rubicon jounce bumper compress in either a flexed out or bottom out condition? 1/2”? 1”? 1.5”? More?

I have a 2” Teraflex spacer kit but trying to only limit up travel as much as I need. May need to shave it down as 1” spacer kits seems to not exist. But depending on how much the jounce bumper compress at full load I may be ok with the 2” stop kit.

I have the 392 springs and shocks. At full flex (or at least until I have about a 1/4-1/2” of tire (35s) clearance to the inner fenders, I’ve got about an inch to the jounce bumper in the rear and in front might be less. I can’t see because the spring covers it when full flexed.

When you’re flexed like that the bump stops don’t hit square, so it will compress to the metal…..

When you compress both wheels the jounce will mushroom out and stop with a half inch ish rubber showing……. It’s hard to see the front, but if you look close you can see mine is barely hitting. But you can see how the back will squish to the metal when only one wheel stuffs………..

I was hoping the smart people would weigh in. :). I know he didn’t ask, but what about the shocks? +2” spacer, +1.5”(?) Springs. Is it possible the shocks bottom out before the bump stop does? Pretty sure 392 has same + 1 3/8” jounce tube as my diesel. What about down travel?

Thanks! Perfect pics. I can probably install the 2”Teraflex spacers without losing much up-travel and protecting my inner fenders and shocks.

Depends on how fast you’re going when you compress them. 😁

I’m old school so I always cycle the suspension no matter what kind or height of lift I’m installing, just to be sure everything works to the best of its ability……..

Ideally you want your shock to have a 1/2” shock shaft showing when you’re fully into your bumps. For my set up, I’m on the lower end of up travel to have extra droop so I’ve got my bumps tuned to about an 1/8” of shaft showing on my fronts, and 3/8 ish on the rears. But I have an extra line of defense on my shocks, they have a built in stop………

My rear at full bump……
