No question they need to deal in order to try and reduce the glut of inventory. It’s just crazy how much they are now dropping the price, JK never needed these kinds of discounts.

Here is an ad for one of my local dealers...

Could you PM the dealership where the ad is from. Thanks

Sweet thanks. Will show neighbors. We just ordered a Mojito Rubicon and I think they want one too. Mine should be built soon.

those are fake discounts, scumbag dealers stack every type of rebate together to sucker people in, bet the real discount might be 12% or so, maybe 6-7k off, but not 12k

Don't mind me hijacking this thread, but is there anyone other recent buyers out there that can weigh in?

My dealer, Cooper Jeep, in Richfield Springs, NY has 10 leftover 2018s. One Mojito JL, 2.0 T Sport, the others are JLUs. Discounted quite a bit, nice people to deal with. Ask for Kevin...

We just picked up an '18 Sahara Unlimited a couple of weeks ago. We got a fair discount, about 11%, off list price. Of course, the advertised price on the vehicle was a bait-and-switch with every conceivable discount, but we did OK. Also did not quarter any BS from the finance guy - he was a piece of work.

There are some 2018 JL's on some lots that are discounted.. But at this point they are a model year old, coming up on 2 model years once 2020 ordering starts in July...

How much of a discount is fair on these leftover 2018 JL's on the lots?
A leftover 2018 JL would be cheaper only by a couple of thousand. But the real value is that you are getting a 2018 with next to 0 miles. Driven normally, it will always be a low milage car. Lower milage cars are more valuable. I bought a 2018 JL in January 2019. 25 miles. A year old car with 25 miles. I'll average 10K in 2019. That means the average is 5K miles a year.

About the same. I picked up a 2018 with a price of 52,600 for 44,500

There is a additional $1000-off in Direct Marketing now on 2018 JLs.

Where do you find this at? Unless I can show proof of this, it's useless information to a dealer lol

It is possible it is a regional promotion. I am in IL. You should inquire on the Jeep site and request a mailed brochure. I don't think it's a Golden Ticket because I have gotten several of them in the last few months. I got emails and mailed material from Jeep. Dealers have a data base of people in their area who inquired about FCA products. All the dealer has to know is your last name and email address and they can search in their internal data base for direct marketing money from FCA.

WOW!

Using the search function on Jeep.com and using a centrally located zip code for Houston, then searching only with 25 miles, shows 566 2018 wranglers.

Holy cow. In 1 month those are going to be two year old, brand new vehicles. I don’t know the economics of the car business but, somebody is hurting here.

I suspect FCA will need to offer a little more incentives to help get rid of the old '18 inventory. Maybe more cash or 0% financing. The extra $1000 Direct Marketing promo going on now should help.

The factory shutdown this month will stop supply for a few weeks. FCA raised prices too much and made too many JLs. FCA got too greedy and/or their sales forecasting teams miscalculated demand. Some buyers might be a a little gun shy buying a first year FCA product also. The frame weld, steering, and other Q/C issues for early JLs did not help with buyer confidence. The new Gladiator will probably poach some intended Wrangler sales also. Competition from the new Ford Bronco will probably steal some market share also.
