I just crossed 28,500 miles on my 2 year old JLUR 3.6/manual. It's been trouble free and I couldn't be happier with it. I'm betting we've got some of these Gen 2 Pentastars out there that are starting to rack up the miles. Tell us how many miles you have and if you've had any issues, major or minor. Tell us anything else you'd like to share, such as oil, oil change interval, or whatevery you'd like.

Mine:

2018 JLUR, delivered in January 2018
28,500 miles to date
Mostly Mobil 1 AP 0w20
One oil change interval was at 7k on Pennzoil Ultra 0w20. UOA looked great. I am currently at 6500 on M1AP. I'll change the oil when the montitor gets to 0%. I'm guessing it will be at 8k miles.
Manual transmission. No issues with it, either.

No issues, whatsoever. Smooth, powerful, and LOVES to rev going through the gears! I'm running 35's, btw. It pulls 6th gear just fine above 60mph.

I have 10,300 miles after 11 months of ownership with the 8 speed. I changed the oil twice and will be doing 6 month intervals unless I drive a lot more than expected in a given time frame. Valvoline 0W-20 Full Synthetic. I owned a 3.6 for 5 years before this and enjoyed the engine but matched with the 8 speed makes it very smooth and refined. The next Wrangler in 2027/2028 will have to blow me away in order for me to not own this for life.

2dr manual Rubicon, one of the first off the line in June 2018. Trouble free and I love it. 30,000 miles. I use Mobil-1, whichever version they have in stock at Walmart (extended performance was what I used just a few days ago). MOPAR filters.

Remember, I live on pretty flat ground. If we had any significant elevation change, I'd probably say the same and would stay in 5th a bit longer. But, my Pentastar's break-in felt like it took awhile. It felt like it gained power and revved more freely as miles built, peaking at just past 20k. Probably before 15k, I was more likely to shift to 6th at 65mph or above, too.

Delivered Feb '18 and currently at 38,000 miles. Trouble free aside from the infamous vacuum pump issue last year. So far so good (knock on wood). I use amsoil for the oil change and I typically do them every 7k-8k which is when the oil life monitor reaches 0%.

What was the vacuum pump issue? I missed that.

I only have 10.7k so it's not really broken in?

Well, all the crap from assembly is probably gone, and the rings seated probably in the first few miles, but these modern engines have such tight tolerances that power can often increase up to or even past 20k miles. I had an 06 Solstice 2.4 that did that and this Jeep feels like it has done the same. I'd say it leveled off probably just past 20. Of course, this is all by the sensors in my ass cheeks. It certainly feels like it revs more freely.

5600 miles March 2018 build. No motor issues. Steering and electronics problems. Yellowing paint. Grill and front fenders have been repainted already (white)
