How many miles did you have when you did the first brake pad replacement?

It's not the miles. it's the braking / type of driving. If you do a lot of extended road trips composed of mostly highway miles, the brakes are not used much. If you live in a city, or drive like a tailgating fool, then brakes get used a lot.

My mind is blown right now, I have a 2020 Willy's diesel, I tow my Trailer at least 200 miles every other month, my Jeep has a total of 82k miles, I checked the brake pads every time I change the oil, last check was 3 weeks ago and they still look good. My jeep went to the Dealership for warranty work recently and I asked them to check and change the brake pads (because i was getting nervous) , I was told the Pads are still within specifications and don't need changed! Right after I bought the Jeep new, I ordered rotors and pads because the Diesel Jeeps are Unicorns and are really hard to get parts for, I figured with the amount of time I spend prospecting (distance + towing) I would need brakes by at least 20k miles. Is anyone else experiencing this kind of longevity on their pads? Did the Chrysler engineers goof and make over engineered pads?
Like you soon after I bought my JL I bought a set on Powerstop Z36 pads, but every time I checked the pads and rotors there was little wear. 30K+ miles later, I was bored and since the fronts were occasionally squealing I decided to change the fronts. They still had nearly 50% pad material. I was going to change the rears, but they were at ~70%.

It is insane, because my JL required pads every 20K miles.

what pads did you change to after the Powerstops? and how did they compare?

I had 144,395 miles on mine when I finally went to the Teraflex big brake kit. I never looked at the pads to see if they had anything left on them as a shop did the kit. I just kept waiting for them to squeal and they never did.

I think yours is the highest mileage reported so far, I am happy with the reported mileage on this thread, it kinda confirms that the pads average over 80k miles plus.

I admit I was really surprised. I'm a pretty casual driver so that probably helped. I'm a little less casual with the 392 I have now :)

Bone stock ’22 JLR. I am looking for recommendations for front pads and rotors. Suggestions? Mopar, EBC, Hawk?

Factory pads at 75k still. My dad’s buddy said they are in good shape still during my last oil change. I’m still on my second set of ko2 tires too. That’s what I’m really happy about out.

I'm at 46,000 miles on my 2021 Willys Sport EcoDiesel and my brake pads are still plenty good. It probably helps that I don't use my brakes a lot, I always leave a large gap between me and the vehicle in front of me so even stop and go traffic I'm not riding my brakes like most people.

My wife's 2020 Subaru Forester Sport has 72,000 mi and I was inspecting her brake pads the other day and we're probably getting close to where I'll switch them out. That being, we'll probably get at least another 30,000 mi out of them before I switch out the pads, so I might do them at 80,000 mi just because.

I used to have a 2001 Toyota Camry, and I got about 170,000 mi out of that thing before I switched the brake pads.

Honestly if you don't drive like an asshole, your brake pads will last you almost the lifetime of the vehicle.
