Go to a boating store and ask for a cap leash. Also available from Amazon.

Almost lost one a few weeks ago but somehow caught it. Wish I could wear them in the Jeep because I have long hair and a ton of hats so it’s a good way to keep hair out of my eyes.

My wife has a lot more trouble than I do.
Her hat gets blown off a lot.

I haven't lost any yet. No close calls either. Maybe you're all wearing your cover too loose, or with the bill too high? I like the idea of the tether though, I may go get one just to be safe.

Do you ride with the doors off? With just the top off it’s rarely an issue. Doors off is a different animal.
I’ve had some close calls, but I usually feel it start to lift and then slam my head back into the headrest to catch it.
Tethers are a good idea. My father in law offered me one from his boating days.
