How long for a custom order?

if you did a customer order and put money down you should have a vin within a few days. Once you have a vin you can use jeep chat to track the build status of jeep.

Yes you are very correct. I do not understand why so many people do not have VIN. Keep calling Dealer they WILL give you a VIN if you call every day!!! ha ha ha ha

so just to confirm - you only can get an update once you have your official VIN number. And the VIN number is provided to you from the dealer that you placed the order with. So, it is probably good to make sure you bug the dealer to ensure they place your order right away, no delays, so they can get you your VIN. I placed mine 2/21 with the dealer but don't now if they have placed the order yet. Just emailed him!!

Yes that is correct. My dealer sent my order in as I was standing there and that is why I got VIN within 1 week. I also just bought a Compass TrailHawk fully loaded yesterday for the wife.

I placed my order on 2/5. Dealer told me that he updates his customers each Wednesday. On 2/14 he contacted me to give me my VIN and an estimated ship date of 2/23. From everyone on here, I learned that quite often the estimated ship date really turns out to be your build date. No updates this Wednesday but I just texted with Jeep Chat who said I was n status "E" which is Framing - first part of the build process. It is moving right along!!

Wow, you are flying through the process. I ordered 2/1, got my vin 2/3. Customer care told me on 2/13 that I was in D1 but just now Customer care told me I entered D1 2 days ago (2/21)...I expect the dealership to exaggerate a bit but not Customer Care lol.

I just can't wait till I am behind the wheel.

Yeah, I was careful not to order a color or option whose availability I was certain of. I was in a hurry to get my order in on 2/5 so I ordered the red figuring I would have time to change it. The good news is that I've got good pace through the process (so far!!), and the "bad" news is that I am getting red!! LOL, I do really like the red. The other damn Jeep fever I have is ordering aftermarket parts. I have wheels/tires, lift, etc. all on the way. I think drug habits are less expensive!

Bahahah I like the red! I went with black--gonna be a big change from my previous two bright blue wranglers. This is also the 2nd JL I ordered after changing my mind on a couple of features. If I had stuck with the first order, I'd likely be driving it right now.

I need to get more into aftermarket parts--I usually just tint the front two but considering a lift.

I've been trying to get info on JL availability from my 3 closest Jeep dealers here in Southern California for about a month and after countless emails and phone calls I'm finally ready to give up, place a custom order, and wait. The dealer told me it takes 15 weeks from placing the order to delivery. Does that seem about right?

No go to Thousand Oaks ask for Marissa she is the best under 8 weeks

I ordered Punk'n Sahara on 2/3 received vin on 2/6. The same day 2/22 that I received an email for the build sheet the dealer called and the Jeep was already in. The next day I actually received the email for the invoice. 19 day turn around from order to pickup. Live outside of Cleveland so 1.5 hours from Toledo. Mine moved really quick!!

What were your order details? Dual top? Color matched top? LED package? These are some of the delays I've read about...but that is an awesome turn around; I think everyone waiting is super jealous...

Mine was 2 months to the day...ordered JLU Rubicon...fully loaded except no soft top and no painted roof/fenders. Ordered 12/21 received 2/21.

I ordered a JLUR Granite Cristal, Hard Top, manual transmission on January 20th and picket it up on Feb 22nd. Sooner than I expected, to be honest.
I am enjoying it a lot.
The only minor detail I don´t like is the RED dashboard. The rest I love it.
