I ordered mine on 1/13, but have no idea what to expect. Dealer said 6-8 weeks but I think he was pulling that number out of his &$%. I have a VON number, but I have no idea how to track it. How do you know when you get a VIN assigned? Do I just need to keep pestering the dealership?
I ordered 1/11 and only had a VON. I received my VIN on Saturday from my dealer. I think 6-8 weeks is a pretty good estimate. I call Jeep once per week and I was told earlier this week that I’m in D status but I take everything they say with a grain of salt. They have been known to be wrong. The only pretty accurate way to track is through this forum once they open that option back up. I’m thinking end of February for mine..crossing my fingers. Good luck to you.

I've found several dealerships that are accepting custom orders. However, they are all telling me it won't allow them to oder the tan soft top. The system says "later availability status"

I tried to order a 2DR Rubicon yesterday, but the black hard top stopped me cold in my tracks -- I guess it's either out of stock or the system will not take orders with it. So Generally I'm SOL....:(

The Tan soft top is not available for ordering on the 2 door or 4 door at the moment. From my experience, the "late availability" can mean a few weeks or a few months.

I’m not one of the lucky folks who got to order early. I’d like to order in a year. When I ordered my Jetta back in ‘95 I just placed the order and waited a month. Given the single production line and the batches that they do I assume that there will be a order window for JLRUs coming around again. Will there be another 2018 run? I don’t think i saw it on the schedule. Does that mean I’m waiting until a 2019 run? I don’t expect to find a manual Rubi on the lot that will suit me. Thanks folks.

Basically ordering will close around July for 2018. Then it will open up around September for 2019. I'm going based on past years with the JK but I expect JLs will be the same.

This timeline might help.

Thanks. Good to know. I’ll be stashing my nickels away until September. Just told the wife today how much it’s gonna cost. She was speechless. Is that a good thing? She didn’t say “no” so I take that as approval.

If she didn't say no you should buy it tomorrow. Before she comes to her senses.

My order is in D1 status.

Does anyone who ordered know how much longer until arrival at the dealership from here?

I ordered mine on January 5th 2018 and just checked today and they say it is in "G - Trim" status at this point so moving forward, they could not give me any kind of ETA..so I am 3 1/2 weeks in and the build is just about done, will check back in a week to see where we stand...

Just ordered today but as I want the hard top my dealer has to wait for that to open up again before officially putting it in. I was told 6-8 weeks once it's placed but with the hard top restriction I'm planning for closer to 12 (hopefully). Not in a huge rush though so I'm fine waiting. Gives me more time to order mods as they come out!!

Apparently they're not accepting any hard top orders at the moment (could just be limited to Sport). I'm assuming it's to catch up on a backlog of orders or to prioritize soft tops at the moment.
