I have to say today was about 1,352’ here in Kansas, but the Mountain Goat has spent some time up high. Most recently through Old Fall River Road past Bighorn Mountain. Not a very challenging trail but great views throughout and at 11,796’ atop the Alpine visitor’s center.

Near Alma, Co you can drive past bristlecone pines on your way to over 14,000 feet!

I checked my Guide to Colorado Back Roads and 4 - Wheel - Drive Trails and its telling me that the road past Bristlecone Pines is a private mining road outside Pike National Forest. No trespassing. Do you have info that this has changed?

Guanella Pass, yesterday to see fall colors, 11,700 feet. This image looking east from the summit at two 14ers, Mt. Beirstadt on the right and Mt. Evans on the left and the tundra all turned orange.
