So this is my first lifted Jeep. I had it done just a couple weeks ago. I chose my wheels and tires without really considering weight. My wheels and tires are about 114 pounds. After reading what some people's combos weigh I am a little concerned. Especially when I read that my 35 inch combo is heavier than some peoples 37 inch combos. Am I going to trash components with this much weight on all 4 corners? Also with the spare hanging back there.. I do have the Teraex Alpha HD tire carrier but not with hinge support. I do notice over bumps the tire moves some.. am I going to trash the swing gate too? Would very much appreciate peoples experience. Here are a couple pics of my setup

114 pounds for all the tires and wheels combined is actually super light? Are you sure you posted the right weight?

114lbs is probably too heavy for the tailgate, especially if it's flexing already. Since you already have Tereflex, I would get the Alpha tire carrier with the hinges. You could just remove the spare tire until you come up with a solution.

Can't speak to the weight but did you adjust the spare so the rubber bumpers are supporting the bottom of the tire?

Yeah.. I figured I would get that at some point.. just add the hinge support to the carrier I have.. it seems solid.. no drop to the gate when I open it.. just when I hit good bumps I can see a slight bounce in the rearview if I watch it.. I don't do hard core offroading or anything.. I do trails and some moderate stuff.. but I don't crawl huge rocks or slam it around off ledges or anything cuz it is my daily as well.. bit eventually I do want to add the hinge support.. but what do you think about having that much on the 4 corners.. do you think I'm asking too much of the stock axles and stuff under there if I'm not abusing it?

Yes.. thats what I forgot to add to the original post.. the tire is up against the bumpers.. thats why I went with the Tetaflex adjustable.. so it is against them..

One thing I forgot to mention is that the tire is up against the bumpers too.. but I did notice that the 35's are actually further away from the rear bumper than the stock tires.. there is more clearance between these tires and the bumper than there was with stock tires.. it may be able to go to the lower setting on the adjustable carrier.. but I'm not sure if that would help... lowering the center of gravity of the tire that inch or two down on the gate.. idk if that would make a difference

Your new lift, tires, and wheels look awesome! The stance looks perfect. I went from 80 to 105 lbs. per corner last year and haven't had any issues. I did add the Mopar Tailgate reinforcement to help support the extra weight, and it's solid as a rock.

Thanks bro.. I appreciate it.. yeah I think eventually (hopefully sooner rather than later) I will get the teraflex reinforcement since it will go with my carrier that I got.. hopefully that will help

That’s heavy for 35s. I have 37s and the combined weight is 111.2 lbs (76.1 + 35.1). Suspension components will be fine. I’d suggest strengthening the tailgate. I’m using the Teraflex hinge carrier.
