So with a Rubicon in 4 High...how fast is too fast to be driving down the road? Obviously 65-70 MPH is probably too high but just for curiosity what is your experience? I know that driving in 4 High on a Rubicon is going to be different than 4 Auto in a Sahara.

Im pretty sure theres no speed limit for 4h, as fast as you feel safe/comfortable. 4low has a limit

The answer to your question has much more to do with the traction of the road surface, followed by are you driving completely straight or how tight our the turns/curves. Speed for me is like the 3rd or 4th consideration when using 4H.

Usually the same for me. I am only thinking the off case the roads are snow covered but still manageable for a 55 MPH speed but more or less a piece of mind that if I hit something nasty or drifted snow I have the Jeep in 4x4.

If 4H is required then I'm usually 50mph or less, as I don't use it unless the road surface is 90-100% snow covered.

I think if you're using 4 High in conditions you need it 70+ won't hurt the Jeep! That is of course that you remember it has NO susuperior brakes so that trip into the center strip could hurt your jeep!

I've done 60+ when I probably shouldn't have and had never had a vehicle problem. Any stopping advantage is only in engine braking with winter tires, otherwise it's just like a Buick!

Hve fun be always careful!

Go Jeep!!!

Grew up and lived I northern Mn dealing with a lot of snow and ice . Pretty much everyone drives the speed limit or higher even with 4x4. So about 70-75. Never hurt any of my jeeps, never had axle or diff , trans, transfer, motor or clutch issues. I wouldn't worry about it...just drive within your and your tires abilities.

When the shiny side is no longer up you’ve gone too fast. In all seriousness speed should be way down on your list of importance if 4h is being used.

Edited* spelling.
