Anyone have pictures they will share?

Looking to see how far the tires stick out from the fenders of a JL rubi.

Looking at XD rims.

Thanks!

0 offset is in the middle of the wheel so if you took a tape measure and stuck it in your current wheel to where you feel the back plate and measured out half the distance of the wheel you would be close.

The issue is that the wheel width is actually measured from within the wheels bead seat and not the outside so any wheel will automatically have an extra inch of width (1/2 on each side) that is not accounted for when talking wheel width but is when talking about backspacing. Backspacing is measured from the back plate all the way to the lip.

So in our scenario we would take the width of the wheel (8.5") and measure out half the distance (4.25") like before but need to add that additional half inch (0.5") on each side to determine backspacing which in this case is 4.75".

Since the wheels offset is centered at 0, we would measure the same distance (4.75") from the current wheels back plate to determine how far out the wheel will be.

It gets a bit more complicated when measuring out different offsets (-12/+12) but that is why you have the link above to easily assist in those cases. Offset is measured in millimeters and 1" = 25.4mm so really not that hard once you've spent a couple minutes figuring it out.

I’m running Method 17” 8.5 with zero offset. Tires are 37x13.5 not 12.5, maybe this will give you an idea?

Bump on an old post. I’m kind of freaking out a little because i just placed an order for wheels and tires last week. I have a 2018 jlur and ordered method 17” 305’s with a zero offset. Going with nitto trail grapplers 35x12.50x17. I probably should have done more research but the sales person i spoke with led me to believe that combo shouldn’t stick out to much. After using some of the online calculators it looks like the new combo will be 2.3” further out than the stock configuration. With stock wheels and tires they are flush with fenders. I’m now worried i have made a mistake and it wont be the look i’m going for at all. Don’t mind a little poke, but definitely don’t want almost 2.5”. Is anyone else running setup and have pics?

315 70r17 KO2 +1 offset. Used a straightedge against sidewall the widest is 2 1/4* out of the fender. The actual tread is 1 1/4" outside the fender. I love the look personally, but thats Me.

Thanks for the pics! Have you noticed any issues with drivability? That was my other main concern with increasing the track width that amount.

I'm 4" over stock height and have 17x9 wheels with -12mm offset and 38x13.5's. The wider track definitely gives more side to side stability on curvy roads and cornering. Also, more stability with off camber situations.

i think the stance is perfect with the larger tires. Not sure how it will look with the 35's i have purchased.

I've definitely seen your setup on both stock height and lifted Rubi's, and it looks sharp. I've also seen stock tires with the same offset, but it looks strange with the narrower factory tires.

Man I sure hope so. Wheel and tire selection has been the toughest thing I have had to decide in a while 😂😂
